Show us your scratches!

I recently read a thread that I sympathised with about your 1st scratch... I have yet to experience this but am dreading the day.

To soften the inevitable blow - anyone care to share some images of their much worn and loved pieces, so we can all see that the 1st scratch is just the 1st of many and only adds character?

You have quite the list of watches in your signature...not one of them has a scratch?

I've owned the yacht master for about a month and this is what I have so far... Not proud of them obviously but what can I do? It's only a watch and I did wear it everyday so here it goes...

This is from wearing it daily so these are known to happen on the clasp and the same goes for the PCL's.

this is a pretty deep scratch I got from December 24th... I didn't get drunk that night so I literally have no idea how this happened :\

and this happened 1 week ago at work. I was at a nurses station and while I was walking out, a nurse called me to see something and I turned around kind of walking backwards to say I had to go and as soon as I turned around there was a big file cabinet in my way and thanks to my reflexes, I put my left arm up (watch hand) to block my face and it took a piece of the upper left lug on my YM... What a sad day. But I got over it after 2-3 days

Yes I know!! But, things happen!

I was super sad last week when I banged my watch on that file cabinet. I couldn't stop looking at it and kept thinking to myself that it's not the same anymore. I kept wearing it and in 2-3 days I let that feeling go. Now I just ignore it and still wear it every once in a while now.

I got myself a new watch for the police academy last Friday and that's what I've been wearing daily now!! I'll leave my rolexes in the watch box for other occasions

You wear your watch pretty heavily, if this is after one month, I dread to see it after a year.

Oh, I've got some very light scrapes on the clasp of my GMT from sitting at a desk and typing... The DJII ExpII and the YG Sub aren't scratched at all yet but that's because I'm waiting for a link on the DJ and the Sub & ExplorerII are brand spanking new.

The platinum DDII... Well that's coddled like a baby! I'll let you know when the inevitable happens, though :)

As for the Planet Ocean... The clasp is actually in really good shape, considering I wore it almost every day until the GMT arrived. Not sure if it's because it's satin finish/brushed but it's defo a hard wearing unit - especially since, as it's nearly 2cm thick, I've bashed it on so many door frames that I dread to think!

Haha! Let's see. Hopefully not as much because I'm not wearing it as a daily anymore.

Oh snap! How can I forget about my datejust?!?! Here is my datejust

this was was purchased in 2001 by my dad and we are the original owners. It has never been serviced AT ALL since he purchased it. Keeps great timing but I'll probably take it in sometime this year. This is what a watch of 14 years looks like without a single polish

The first picture shows the scratches in harsh unfavorable lighting. The second one is closer to reality. No idea what caused the scratches on the links. The clasp is my Macbook's doing.

This is after two weeks. Build that character

It was on an explorer 2 when I sent it in (spare clasp), saving my original PCL clasp from the desk scuffs as this GMT is my daily wear.

From all the reading I've done in here, putting a clasp from a different reference makes it a Frankenwatch and RSC won't work on frankenwatches unless it's returned back to original specs by them or the owner. Which RSC did this for you? Looks like a bad polish job by them.

Hmmm. Just say I have 2 ss watches and 3 clasps.
The one pictured is the beat up clasp which I used on my daily watch.

RSC brushed it as I sent it in with an exp 2.
Ecp 2 and GMT have similar clasp but difference is brushed and PCL
And I'm ok with the brushed outcome. =)

Six months of daily wear, the majority of which is at a desk writing notes (we need an EMR!)
