The Trade
Hello all,
Am looking for a second opinion as to what to do I have decided to sell my Exp 2 216570 Polar and put up some funds for a GMT BLNR or an omega speedmaster dark side of the moon. Any opinions? Thanks! pics not mine, uploaded from a generic google image search. |

my opinion is that they are both great watches, if I could only have one would be the GMT

What else is in you collection?
If I could have 1 watch only GMT is more versatile...work or play. Speedy is a very cool watch, but to me black watches are "Sports" only...just my opinion |

BLNR gets my vote, I think the DSOD is over priced for what it is.

I'll say the DSOM, you have a watch with blue in the skyfall, and a rolex sports model. A ceramic chrono with red accents I think adds a lot to that collection.
I understand if you go with the BLNR too. By itself, I think I'd choose the BLNR too. |

Unlikely to get a lot of votes for the Omega over the Rolex on this forum!

If you're set on trading the 216570 (which, I wouldn't haha) I would do it for the BLNR. Mostly just because I'm not a big fan of the new 9300 Speedmasters, I like the classic more.

Agree. I prefer the 42mm polar over the BLNR due to it's larger size, brushed bracelet, legibility, and clean crisp white dial with orange hand and black text. IMO, the ExpII looks better. I'm not into the all black watches and also think the DSOM is overpriced, so I vote keep the ExpII 42mm. Good luck with your decision.

I'd keep the explorer and buy the GMT separately.

ExplorerII! You will miss it if you sell. I say keep it and sell whatever it takes to get the BLNR as well. It'll be " all there in black n white" then!!

I had a similar dilemma..deciding between the DSOM and the BLNR...went with the BLNR, still love the DSOM..but I flip watches a lot and felt the BLNR would have a better resale value, plus it's a beautiful watch!

With what you have the GMT would be great. I don't have an omega, but if I did the dark side is what it would be.

If you do any travel or deal with people in other timezones, the GMT is more practical. And in my opinion is a more classic look.
But they're both very nice! -Dan |
