Question about dials
Hi all,
Is there a way to work out whether the dial on a pre-owned Rolex has been replaced simply by looking at the pictures of the face? I am looking at this 16013 Datejust from 1987. It has no papers. The dial seems too modern to me to be the original. I haven't been able to find any online resources which will help me to confirm one way or the other. I'd like to know when this particular dial was introduced and/or more particularly whether or not any 16013 models in or around 1987 ever came with it installed initially. The seller is slow to respond and may not know the answer anyway. Any ideas? Cheers, Ian |

That looks about right. The newer style Roman dials look different than that one.
I am thinking around mid to late 90's they look the same as they do today. Do a few searches and you will see, but I think that is correct |

Thanks. I believe the "T SWISS MADE T" mark indicates the dial was made before 1998 as this is apparently when they stopped using tritium.
So that is a positive sign, I guess. |

There is a PDF official list on what dial Rolex will replace on each model/era watch.
For me I think it's right I jus sent mine to Rolex for service and dial change (champagne with sticks for blue w/arabics) and they offers me the one in the pic. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
