To What Degree do you 'Baby' Your Daily Watch?
Title says it all really, do you pamper? verging on OCD? or just wear as a daily?
Moi? I wear my SD and (almost) cherish the little scratches and dints, putting it down to a little bit of nostagia and individuality ...then the whole slate gets wiped clean every 7 years or so at the RSC |

I get stressed enough with daily life not to worry about a watch.
I thought these things were made as tool watches & I like the fact they are strong enough to take a few knocks and can pop off to a RSC for a nip and tuck Can't imagine James Bond spent half the evening fretting over a few swirls on his bracelet after going 12 rounds with odd job |

I baby the Rolex DJ to death, that's why I bought my Omega Aqua Terra so I could wear one and non worry about it at work.

Don't baby mine too much, but take it off and pocket it if I'm crossing from one ship to another...I've lost 1 watch and 2 cell phones in the drink at the Pier where we dock in between seasons

Just wear it! Daily beater is a sub and since it's built like a tank I don't really worry about it that much!

I wear it, and try to not bang it up unnecessarily, but don't get bent out of shape if it gets used! I wash them weekly or so (or after doing something particularly dirty) and I used the Cape Cod cloth on Bluesy when I got some scratches then used a polish that was too abraisive for gold. I tend to take a little better care of Bluesy than Expy2 because of the gold, but it's a Rolex, not a VC.

Not at all, it was bought to be worn. But I am not careless with it either.

I wear mine normally, although I'm a clumy of so my watches probablt take more abuse then average.
With regards cement..I manufacture the stuff (the powder, not the concrete that another poster referred to earlier - please don't confuse the two) so the biggest risk is damage from fine particles. If I'm sinking my hands into a powder material, I'll stick it in my pocket.

I start out a bit OCD then it kind of morphs into something I can live with. I just got done cutting up some old wood to burn in a patio burner and was wearing my SS Daytona. I had on a sweatshirt though and it was safely under the sleeve. I worry more about other metals coming in contact such as changing oil, etc. I'm too long in the tooth to not wear them as much as possible. Kind of the same with the timekeeping aspect. I hardly pay any attention to that anymore. I'll look at them on the hour occasionally to see if they're on the mark but I'm not anal about that anymore either. I use Colemantis' Daytona to set them when they're off.

I wash my Rolex watches once a week. Besides that, I take my Rolex off if I am about to do something that might get it scratched. Other than that, it's pretty much on my wrist all the time except when I am sleeping.

Never baby my Rolex watches
Rolex Submariner Date is my daily, everywhere wear -- and yes, the bezel has a rather unpleasant scratch (that I've found actually impresses the ADs w/ whom I interact: I guess they like real watches worn by real people). Like someone else said above, if I'm in close quarters doing metal work or mixing cement, or grinding tree branches (vibration concern), then it comes off; otherwise, I wouldn't think of babying it.
Ironically, I worry more about my Omega Seamaster watches! My other Rolex is also a sports watch, but dressier. But I went w/ a sports model instead of a Cellini (thanks for the help on that decision guys, by the way), because I never wanted to feel compromised in the event that I was wearing this one but needed to do "something more." Good question.

I baby my DJ more than the TTIIC, since the TTIIC is my 'beater' after all.
Although, since the most strenuous activity of my day is probably operating my iPhone or opening the fridge - both watches still look brand new...

I am very cautious with my watches but I wouldn't consider that babying them. I do like them to look clean if I'm going somewhere for dinner but other than that I just wear them.

I wear my Day-Date every day and I am as careful as one can be. I wash it once a week with jewlery cleaner and pat (not rub) it dry. I also lightly polish out any hairline scratches if I see 'em.
Good news is that after 7 mo's of every day wear, it looks brand spanking new |

I was very cautious when I started wearing my Sea Dweller, now I am not really concerned with it. I do wipe the crystal at least once daily with a microfiber cloth (sun glass cloth)

I've worn the heck out of my Breitling, and Oris. But for some reason, ever since getting my Rolex Sub-Date and GMT-Pepsi, I've been very careful with those Rolex time pieces.
