Show and Tell

Show me what you believe to be your rarest Rolex watch, how you came to possess it, and how long you've had it for

P.S. "Rare" doesn't need to mean expensive or even limited in quantity, but just have a good backstory behind it

My dad's Oyster Perpetual, Stainless Steel, No Date, Jubilee Bracelet.

Purchased in 1971 for just over $200 I've never seen another one like it.

I guess my rarest Rolex is my BLNR, mainly because the supply hasn't caught up with demand and here in New Mexico, only three or four have been sold and they were snatched up before they got to the showcase.

I came by it because I was saving for something that fell through and when the AD saleslady asked if I wanted her to call me when one came in (their first), I told her to reserve it for me.

Very nice...reminds me of my dad's Certina from a similar time period--would you believe he and my mom shared that exact same watch in common

My GMT Pepsi.

I was in the Marines and on my way to Desert Shield. Before we got on an Air force C-5 to fly to Saudi Arabia I saw the pilot standing on the ramp wearing a GMT Pepsi and thought wow that's a really cool watch. Of course, I could not afford one.

Fast forward to about ten years ago I picked one up, not a 1990-1991 but a 1993 GMT Pepsi, so close enough.

Mine would be this mint condition 5513 from 1967 my birthyear. It's was a one owner watch prior to me. The man was the owner of Bob's Boats in Florida.

Great Story! Was the pilots on a jubilee? I just put a jubilee on my pepsi gmt 2 and love it.
