Icon5 Calibre 59 first used?

Anyone know when Rolex first started using the Calibre 59 movement please?

Well, from your Australian Tudor, it seems to be some time in the 1930s! I would have guessed by late '30s, in any case, as most of those early '40s Oysters have it.

Thanks, yes, at least mid 30s. I was wondering if it might even be late 20s?

i have seen it in a rolex that by date charts, which are not perfect as you know, suggest it was made in the year 1930 , not sure if that is when it first came out though sorry
