16610LV caseback fit... is this normal?
I recently acquired a D serial 16610LV in like new condition with box and papers. It looks like it's been worn only a handful of times, bracelet is absolutely as new, hologram is also like new. The watch runs approximately minus 1/2 of a second per day, I have no service history but it doesn't appear it has been in for service.
My question is in regards to the caseback fit. As seen in the photos (hopefully) the case back on the 9 o'clock side of the case is flush while on the 3 o'clock side there is a slight gap. I seem to remember reading about a similar issue on a Seadweller DS a couple years ago and after the owner had RSC look at it they said it was ok, not sure it's the samethough. Thoughts? Thank you. That does not look right to me and if it is similar to the SD you referred to and RSC told me it was okay I still wouldn't accept it.
I have personally never seen a case back that had a gap like that. To me it looks like it just hasn't been screwed back down correctly.

I agree, looks like it needs screwing down a little further is all.

Have you tried opening it with the strength of your fingers? If it's not screwed down properly, you will be able to unscrew it manually. It won't be super easy. It's possible the movement was checked and the case not tightened afterwards.

I tried to open the caseback with my fingers and it does not budge at all. I tried to show through the pictures that the caseback is flush on the 9 o'clock side but has a slight gap on the 3 o'clock side.

I'd be worried the threads were crossed. Easy to do with Rolex particularly if you don't have the right tools or are rushing... It will be "tight" but not sealed.
Worst case (no pun intended) case back and mid case have to be replaced. |

It certainly doesn't look right. I'd follow Vanessa's instructions to the letter, in a clean environment.

Thanks for the responses. After considering the possibilities I contacted the seller and was able to return it.
