Great photo comparison DD2 vs DD40

This is a great comparison shot I found. Also, the deconstructed Romans are finally starting to grow on me although for the life of me I can't figure out why they made the 5,7,9 oclock stick instead of Roman.

Funny, I think the new style of the roman numerals looks great, more modern, if you will.

That 1 mm does make a difference. Not just in size but proportions as well. I also liked the new Roman numerals but after seeing the dial with batons (sticks) in person they do look much more elegant than the one in the Datejust. They are narrower and better looking. Do you think they will keep those new dials just for the DD40 and won't be available in the Datejust in the future?

The new DD40 is the bomb. I really like this watch and it could easily move to the top of my "next" list. It is perfect in size, proportion and dial design.

The deconstructed Romans give off a 3D pop out look in the light which is really cool. I'm a DD2 person, but those deconstructed Romans on platinum is just so....... Man I really might end up with a DD40 platinum in the next year or so....

Not a fan of the new numerals and like the look of the DDII proportions; different strokes so to speak. What ever floats the boat.

At that angle you can see the 3 Dimensionality of the new Romans and they do look good, both are great watches. Will take a closer look at the 40s next year.

I had the chance recently to try on a dd2 and found it to be to big for me. I would go with the dd40.

No offense to DD2 owners but the DD40 is a better watch IMO for all of the reasons stated. Especially the case proportions and dial options, the new roman numerals give it a cleaner look. Not the mention a better movement, more accurate and longer power reserve.

Love all the changes with the exception of the altering of the Roman dial. I like the less fussy, clean look but don't get the inclusion of the stick markers. Then again I tend to prefer Arabic and stick dials as it stands.

DD2 owner here. I appreciate the proportions on the DD40 but still favor the DD2 dial options.
