What is a good AD discount on PM?

How much of a discount should one expect to receive from an AD on a PM Rolex such as a Sky-Dweller? What is a good discount? Trying to decide between going AD or with a trusted seller. Thanks in advance for your input!

If you only got 10% when or if you went to sell you'd only lose another 25%. So better get a good discount or deal with a trusted seller.

I've been offered 15% before, including last week on a YG DD 40.

I prefer to buy from AD's, but my next purchase will likely be PM, and the trusted sellers prices are way too tempting!

I would get their best price, and then shop that here on the classifieds. Or get your best price here and take that to your dealer...if they can't meet it, walk away.

Depends on the model. Less popular pieces tend to discount more.

Anywhere from 20 to 30% depending on the AD in this country.

Could anyone provide names of ADs and locations? Would they tell you this discount over the phone, or would you have to go in?

Very much depends on your relationship with your AD. Mine will give me 17% on a two tone lady DJ that Mrs Van Driver has her eyes on and the same on a SS YM. On a full PM model, I would get around 25% but that's because of my past purchases and referrals. On a Platona, I'd get more again. I would not get those sort of figures if I were an unknown 'walk-in' potential customer; I've tried walking into other ADs here and haven't even got close to what he'll offer me.

In my experience, sellers in general (from watches to cars) don't like to talk discounts over the phone.

If you cold call an AD and the person there quotes discounts over the phone, then you have talked to someone just trying to get you in the door. If you have a good relationship built over time and successful transactions then a different experience.

Since you said TX or FL - maybe check out DavidSW's listings of BNIB or LNIB and compare ask $ vs. MSRP? David prolly has better prices and a trip to DisneyWorld could be worthwhile

Should start at 20% and based on the model it could go as high as 30%. If you want to really save then go slightly pre-owned from a Trusted Seller.

Depends on the model, what AD and what your relationship with that AD is.
I wouldn't buy from an AD for less than 25 off. Otherwise, check with the trusted sellers.

I was at the AD last night. He said 34k for a PM sub. You can buy a year or two old one for 16k. I figure around half price is a good reason to go pre owned if you don't care about the pomp and circumstance of the dealer. That's clearly a loss of half its value right out the door. I wasn't there buying so I am not sure if that was his final number. It was also at the casino which I find don't discount much near me no matter how much you buy from them.

You can't buy a 1 or 2 year old YG Sub for $16k.

You absolutely can get them for around 16k. You can get BNIB right on this forum for 22-24k.
