Daytona 1992 Winner Rolex 24 AD Dayton?
A few weeks back a friend had shown me (what he wasn't sure of but does know enough about watches as he collects them) a Rolex that he'd found. Seeing while I've been trying to sell this and while I have had the chance to sell the 'So-called' Rolex, I have even used this site as a reference to Daytona Watch.
To admit that I am not experienced with Rolex, except for this that I've looked and compared everywhere I could possibly think of in the last week and a half. I have photos of the Daytona Cosmograph in question to include that if I should post them on the thread for your viewing pleasure or for researching purposes, yet I don't know if I am allowed to post them here, as this is my first time posting on Rolexforums. Since having the watch in my possession, everywhere and everybody who seems to think or say they know it's a fake, I am completely almost totally hypnotized by it, or the fact that it maybe a total sham, I still have to admit it's definitely most intriguing watch I have ever laid eyes, no matter who says it's a fake! What started on this past Sunday, Jan. 31st. (coincidentally the same day as the Daytona 24 Hours of Le Mans) I realized I was looking into the watch (unaware) of the race. As to why or how I wound up with it, is another mystery something that I don't care to discuss, only that I would like to find out if one of you, could help me try and locate the truth behind this watch. To say that a friend had found a reference guide to testing the parameters of what to look for and the sequence of questions to having the watch answer, is that it past everyone of what was needed for it to being the real thing. Seriously, I think I have read all of the information I could possibly find on it. I had taken the watch to a person who as a reference for someone from a not-too-far-away source had recommended, had taken off the backing case and now the minute hand won't set after he put the watch back together. Which he says that he will fix it tomorrow, hopefully either-which-way 'fake or real' the watch is totally sweet. the Back of the watch has Laser enscribing on it, from the top of the watch, *above Rolex 24 (enscrption) "WINNER" (Upper case lettering) I can post the rest of my situation with the watch, as I had posted to sell it as 'THe Real Deal' (real thing) on Ebay, just this last weekend. |

Junk. Not even close to a genuine Rolex 24 at Daytona winner watch. Total fake. Sorry.

Serious.
Seriously, so what, that if it isn't real, can someone explain. Call me names or whatever, on another site, that this 'decal' is supposed to be real, I am perplexed as to why it's not genuine. I have pictures of the inside, also, no engraving, no, nobody takes credit for the work? The reference to this watch, if I can find find it, myself, now, tells the tale of no serial numbers on the case inside the lugs. I live on the Coast, I don't know if this is something that has washed up here on the shores of Vancouver Island, something from the Tsunami that has had debris floating and washing up on the beach. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012...in-museum?lite The First Place Driver's (WINNERS) 24 Hour of Le Mans at Daytona in1992 are from Japan, and one of them is from Shizuoku, Prefector, exactly where the Tsunami Hit in 2011, you want to tell this guy, his watch is a fake? http://www.onehotlap.com/2013/01/the...ever-hear.html |

The watch is fake, and no amount of fantasy scenarios will make it real.

Whole lot of typing by OP for a quick response......it's a fake. A bad fake. Not even remotely close to being a good fake.

Here buddy on the other related thread on (rolexforums) to owning or purchasing a 92 didn't even get as many 'fake' replies as I did in only 1 hr.. Looks like I'm sending 'The Watch in Question' (with your gracious opinions attached) back to 'Rolex' themselves. FTW~!!!

I love this...Dayona washed up on North America shore from Japan Tsunami and happens to be from a 1992 Daytona winner....Geez...shouldn't there be a huge reward for finding this piece of history? BTW, according to these watches, how many winners did they have in 1992 at Daytona?

1992 Daytona 24Hour Race Winners were Masahiro Hasemi, Kazuyoshi Hoshino, Toshio Suzuki, all racing for Nissan of Japan Now it all makes sense, one of these 3 poor race drivers lost his watch in the tsunami, and you've found it buddy That watch is a National Treasure to the people of Japan, and has been missing ever since the storm. You should notify the Japanese Embassy immediately , not Rolex! If you play your cards right, I bet they'd give you a fat reward! Good luck buddy, and don't listen to all these guys here on TRF, they are all saying its a fake because they don't own ANYTHING like yours Good luck, and PLEASE let us know how it all turns out....awesome

The best thing on these is that "AT" (as in at Daytona) is spelled wrong as "AD"

The watch is a stainless Daytona. The box is absolutely huge. Not something you would throw away. These 1992 winner fakes must have been made like hotcakes. Must have been a special year for the counterfeiters. |
