Question About Twinlock Crown on GMT 16710
I just took delivery of a mint condition Y serial 16710 from a reputable jeweler in Houston. It is absolutely beautiful and came with full box and papers, hang tags, etc. All serial #'s match and all looks to be well.....UNTIL.....I noticed that the crown is missing the line beneath the Rolex emblem that I understand should appear on all SS twinlock crowns. What could be the explanation for this? Cause for concern?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

I'd go talk to them and ask them why; maybe they can take care of getting it corrected.

Maybe it was polished out by accident? Sounds a bit shady

No, not at all. Just a replacement crown without the line was used when it was sent in for service. No biggie. Watch is immaculate.

You mean RSC put the wrong crown on there? Sounds unlikely.

No, it's not the "wrong" crown. I took it to Rik Dietel (watchmaker) today to look at it. It's an authentic 603 Twinlock crown....no issue. And it doesn't look like it's been polished or ground down. Nor does it appear tbe movement has been serviced, so not a service crown either. It just doesn't have the line under the coronet for some reason. It's a mystery....but no cause for concern according to Rik.
