Real or fake?

Hello everyone I'm new to this site this is my first post and I just bought my first Rolex off eBay from someone with 100% positive feedback read reviews and everyone seems to like them. From what I gather he buys rolexs adds diamonds and snazzs them up a bit and then resells I'll receive the watch Friday but didn't know if you guys may know if it's real or not just by looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. From what the seller says it's an older watch which I don't mind.

I don't think it is a genuine dial with added gems; I think it's an aftermarket dial.

Best to take it to a local authorized dealer or service center to know for sure.

BTW, everyone now seems to have 100% positive feedback in eBay since you can no longer leave a negative feedback on someone. Funny how that works. Not sure if that has changed, since I haven't left a feedback since that was implemented.

Likely aftermarket dial, its hard to tell with those pics which are showing up a bit blurry for me. I actually kinda like it though lol (even though I'm mostly against diamonds on a men's watch.) With that said, he could have done a bit of a nicer job lining up the diamonds. Also, I would brace myself for something falling off this watch at some point in time (whether it be a diamond coming loose off the dial, or one falling out of the bezel - watches like that need extra love and care)

how much did you pay for this?

not likely aftermarket the dial is fake, it was never produced by rolex, it not an original dial plate with diamonds added, this is completely manufactured by a third party and has nothing to do with rolex, the bezel is aftermarket, the band etc seems ok, although it has fake sapphire crystal conversion and fake hands also.

Yeah its aftermarket sorry I'm new to watches the dial is the thing on the right of the watch that you turn? If so he didn't say that was after market. All of the diamonds they put in I think he said the bezel is aftermarket and yeah I noticed some lining up issues on the diamonds but it was $3750. And you can leave negative feedback on ebay now.

The dial is the face of the watch. The crown is "the thing on the right of the watch that you turn."

Yeah the dial is a little much for me. I do like a diamond dial not sure what the small diamonds on the rims is all about.

Hi, it depends what you call a fake!

It surely is not anymore 100% original or genuine Rolex, neither is it a Chinese counterfeit.

To Rolex, its not a Rolex anymore, they would insist on returning the changed aftermarket pieces like the dial back to original.

What you have is a Rolex movement that has had added a NON rolex dial and bezel.

Hope that helps
Adam

As a rule of thumb, you should probably check more (usually by posting on TRF) before you purchase anything.

Thanks Adam that's the kind of input I was looking for not people that bash it because its not their style. I wanted to stay a member of this forum but I can already see there are some portentous people that want to put it down. So it's a rolex just modified? I personally like the diamonds the guy said it's right at 2 carat weight with all of the diamonds combined. So to each their own I suppose but some people shouldn't put others down because it's not their cup of tea. Thanks for the help.
