My first watch before getting a Sub
My first real watch was a brand new 1999 Tag Heuer S/el Quartz Chronograph 1/10th !!
I bought this watch new and it’s been an outstanding watch for the past 15yrs plus. I’ve worn this every day for pretty much the past 15yrs plus (as my only watch), and it’s been a great watch. As of January this year, I bought my second watch…a new Rolex SS Submariner Ceramic with Date. Purchased new through the Wynn Las Vegas AD. A great experience. The difference in watches is impressive, from size to weight, to well, a Rolex vs a 15yr old Tag. The weight and the mass of the Submariner took me some time getting used to (seriously, maybe one month). Wearing the Rolex (which I wear pretty much 24/7), is truly a great feeling. A true gift to myself (I have a wife and two small kids, so I plan accordingly and within reason. This was certainly a BIG gift for me). With regards to the Tag, I went with the Quartz (ie battery) verision of this watch because I preferred the brushed metal bracelet vs the Automatics brushed/polished links. Plus the Quartz version had the original, colorful TAG emblem on the watch (green/red) vs the Automatic was black and white. I know, who cares, but I cared and I choose accordingly. Back in 1999, I paid around $1200 – a lot of money for me and a lot to spend on a watch – I thought I was living large! I change the battery every 1-2yrs it seems, give or take. I take it to a local jeweler, who changes the battery and pressurizes it for a nominal fee. Watch has been outstanding! I sometimes put it on still and I still LOVE it. What a nice compliment to my Rolex. In any event, I wanted to share “my other watch” and how it fits into my new Rolex family. Bty, this site has been great and the folks on this site are truly polite and respectful (yes, I know, for the most part). I’m not sure what I expected, but I’m very pleasantly surprised. For those of you on other sites, you know what I’m talking about. My other hobby are Porsches (993 specifically), and things can get nasty and heated on some of these forums. Keep it up TRF!! Without further ado, here are some mandatory pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Love your sub. I never was a fan of the tags bracelets like that.

Absolutely beautiful and great seeing another one! I don't come across that many, so great seeing the same model. Are you original owner? Do you have any other watches? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yep, I've had this watch for about 20 years. I have quite a few other watches from a few brands, Rolex being one of my favorite brands. Sent from half way through the Kessel Run using Tapatalk
