My first ever Rolex 1967
Hello everyone!!!
I've purchased my first ever Rolex and looking to add more to the collection in the distant future! Needless to say, I'm very happy with it! 1967 oyster perpetual date You Rolex enthusiast might realise that the dial isn't strictly original, nor are the diamonds. But I can guarantee the diamonds are genuine and definitely looks the part( in my opinion) 14k gold 1570 movement 26 jewels (i think) Basically, I want to hear other people's opinion ( open to criticism) haha if you've got any information about rolexes from that era, I'd love to hear about it. I'm new, so please say hi! And thanks for looking I'll add some pictures soon, having problems at the moment |

Well, it's...different. What was the inclination to get a vintage piece that's been so heavily modified, rather than an all-original? Selling it could (read: likely) pose a challenge.

I've added more pictures! I hope you like, though? At the time, I wasn't really knowledgeable about Rolex, so I sent it off to get it authenticated and the technician confirmed about the originality of the watch. It's very unfortunate about it not being completely original. but i love it to bits, isn't that what it's about? it might be a challenge sell it, but i think I'm gonna keep for a lifetime and pass it down to my children. :) Hopefully

As long as YOU like it, that is all that matters!
That said, if you're thinking about purchasing more, certainly post some pics here on the forum of watches you're looking at before buying. That way you can get some opinions, feedback, and assistance so you know exactly what's at stake before laying down some cash. Cheers! |

Not a big deal, plenty of 1500 dials out there if you ever want to make it original again.

I have a few decent 1570 Date dials if you are looking.

Congratulations on the first purchase, it only gets easier from hereon. I have to say that once you delve into more vintage pieces, you start to see some aspects that cannot be overlooked. By the pictures, it looks like that the bracelet is not in terribly good condition. I see quite a bit of stretch and although I'm not a hundred percent sure, the steelinox clasp seems replaced. The steelinox clasp is not signed with the reference, which is not a big deal because it's still an authentic(just replaced) part. Otherwise, I see this Rolex perfectly fine for a first watch :)

Very cool. Understated size, but flashy two-tone with sparklies. I see the charm. Wear the hell out of it, but guard against water (hard to get those waterproof, even with stock dials).

Thank you very much!!! I was a bit scared that no one was going to like it, with it being modified and all! :( I've only had the watch for about a month or so, and I'm learning some new about it every day. Do you want me to post some more pictures, just to clarify about the bracelet? i just want to know it's originality. i'd appreciate it? thank you! |

It is no different from any other non Submariner Rolex oyster case post 1953 with regard water resistance. |

had me wondering too. Hard to get the WR with aftermarket bezels but never when they were stock. Not much to go wrong with a twin lock, case back gasket and crystal seal as long as the surfaces aren't corroded.

The bracelet has quite a stretch. This is not a negative comment, I only mention it for you to take care and avoid droping / loosing the watch.
