Rolex just back from RSC Sydney

Just got my GMT Master II Coke 16710 back from service that Roles Service Centre. Watch looks like brand new and all bevels are as sharp as they were when the left the factory.

I had a chink across one of the lugs, but that's now totally disappeared. Just amazing.

Cost was AUD $1011.82 including taxes. That was a full service plus a new bezel insert at $121.00

I'm very happy with the service and would recommend RSC Sydney. They quoted 8-10 weeks, but it came back in 6 weeks. Just awesome

Must be light on at the moment I was quoted 12 weeks a few years back and they got it back in 8 weeks. it was my Tudor Chromo and it came back like new as well.

By the way why did you have it done in Sydney if you live in Melbourne that is where the main service centre is as far as I was aware.

Basic service is $990 and then add in the bezel insert plus taxes.

In Australia we don't have too much choice other than go to a RSC or LK Boutique (Sydney). The independent master Swiss watch makers can longer get parts from Rolex. So apart from a general lube, case and bracelet polishing, there's not much those little guys can do for you.

^ thanks for the feedback. amazing that the service cost can be 30-50% of the purchase price of watches that aren't that old. but, as long as you're happy, that's what counts.

EDIT: watch looks great!

I live in Sydney now. The Sydney RSC has 5 watchmakers and the Melbourne RSC has 8 watch makers. Also, Ken at the LK Boutique (Martin Place) is authorised by Rolex to do repairs.

I've had similar experiences with Sydney RSC, they do a great job.

I really appreciate knowing this as i am also a Sydneysider and will need a Rolex service one of these days. I was planning to go to max Schweitzer os Swiss watch Service in Geroge St as he has done great work on non Rolex watches for me but if he is in the list of repairers who csn no longer get Rolex parts then I guess RSC is the go to place.
Great to hear a happy result with your beautiful Coke.

I went to see Max Schweitzer and he told me he now has very limited capability to service Rolex. I think he might have a few parts left in his draw.

Nicholas Hacko, the other master Swiss watchmaker in Sydney no longer accepts Rolex for service. Reading from his blog, he has burnt all bridges with Rolex.

Ken Buckley is a Rolex trained specialist watchmaker based at the LK Botique in Martin Place. He is authorised by Rolex. I doubt he would be any cheaper than the RSC.

Unfortunately it doesn't have the 3186 movement, so I'm not sure the rectangle II dial on its own is going to make any difference.
