PP ADs and their sales quotas

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about when ADs might have to report sales performance back to Patek?

I am interested in adding a new piece to my collection (5170) and am flexible on timing. Thought perhaps buying at the end of the month/quarter might yield a few more percentage points saved on the sale.

Thanks!

I don't know about sales quota at ADs. If they are corporate owned and part of a larger chain of stores, they may have to report back numbers to their corporate HQs.

Here is something to consider. If you pass by an AD and see the same watch on display for 3 months, 6 months and longer, the AD will be "very motivated" to move this piece. Also if an AD has two of the same watch on display, that also means the AD will be motivated to move these pieces. If I were the AD, I would keep one of these two pieces in the back safe, but not all ADs will do this.

Best of luck with your new watch purchase!

AD's don't have any problem selling popular models.
My local AD has the desirable ones sold before he receives them.
Buyers will call AD's from all over the country to get the models that they want.

Do AD's have to pay for the inventory they get from the manufacturers right away or is it similar to a car dealer that pays a portion of the value of the watch based on how long they have it? Meaning to get it they would pay for example 50% and then 10% more for the first 5 months.

ADs have to enter their sales once a month via a portal on the Patek website but there is no "quota" per se.

Thank you! Interesting to hear there is no quota to hit in order to maintain AD status. I might be remembering incorrectly but Rolex might require this.

Yes but Rolex is a big corporation ,Patek is still a family business.I think the sales network members are not evaluated just by the figures they bring but also the image they give ,small family owned jewelers will never be able to compete with large chains though their reputation and dedication is worth a lot .

Car dealers pay the full invoice price from the manufacturer. Typically this is done through a floor plan line of credit with a bank.
