Hmmmmm a new rumor, which like all the others, is just a rumor, even top PP officials often don't know exactly what will happen until 10 days in advance, so...

The new 5711

I can't see this happening. It would make zero sense for PP to modify or change their most highly desired watch. If anything, I could see them adding a new precious medal Nautilus of some sort. Changing the 5711?? I'll believe it when I see it.

I totally agree about it not making sense.
PP have often discontinued very very hot and sought out watches though.
Some that were worth 2/3 times the value in the secondary market, PP didn't care.
I still don't think they will discontinue the 5711 or change it up anyway, but who knows!

Supposedly it's not new, but an application piece, limited in number and the 5711/1a-010 will continue production.

Oh, and also supposedly, there are two models.

Per my AD - who said he knows, but can't tell me more.

In the interview - the journalist says the 5711 is the most sought after sports watch , Stern replies -" for now , yes"

= replacement?

I assure you he doesn't know!! Details are not released to AD until the day of the launch and that includes Baselworld. Brand Directors now a few days earlier...so if he can just give me 7 numbers for next weeks Euromillins that would be a huge help!

Patek design a NATO strap? I don't think Patek even likes making stainless steel watches lol

I heard the case would be plastic like swatch, Patek will enter to the new market for high school kids.

Serious prediction:

Yellow Gold 5711

Not so likely, but a bit Serious:

New Movement with an actual power reserve that isn't a joke.

Not at all Serious:

New 5711 with hand sanitizer dispenser (a Grand Complication)

Totally novice predictions:
1. No change to the 5711, but the whole range will get a brand new clasp, which will be awesome. It will be slightly more bulky, but easier to use.
2. Discontinue the steel 5712 and replace it in platinum.
3. Nautilus grand complication - probably a perpetual. I still think a nautilus minute repeater in platinum would be killer.
4. As for making the 5711 more sporty (intimated by Thierry) maybe they beef it up a bit (ala a ROO) and increase the water resistance.

Ok, now hope you all have had a good chuckle ;-)

it does not make sense to expect huge changes from patek but maybe there can be a white dial of 5711/1R or a limited edition like titanium or platinium...

^^^^^^^^
Do you mean a limited edition of a platinum 5711A with a white dial or this?

My dealer who knows everything assures me it will be a 5711, skeleton in carbon fiber with a pro link extension to a new deployment buckle and will be available on demand with no wait list......

Would be great if they did a SS 5711 (and a 5712 for that matter) on a strap, not a bracelet!

Just repeating what I hear. Take it for what it's worth, which could be nothing...or maybe the thing. He did know about the green aquanaut jumbo from a few years back and the revised 5270 with no chin - so I give him those.

This has countless threads on this. As I mentioned before I was told there are 2 models, after this the existing 5711 could be in demand (that wording has 2 ways of looking at it) and he assured me nobody knows until the final decisions are made and thus individual was significantly up the food chain than an AD

I heard it will be like an Apple release with Thierry standing on stage live streamed via YouTube. After the announcement the is over you will be able to buy the new 5711 in stores. Each store gets 3.

Source: My AD who said they know the REAL plan.
