It's a real stunner and in perfect shape. Have you had it extensively restored? Is the dial, face and hands newer than 1972?

Its a lovely watch Jonas. How long have you had that, and is the face, bezel and hands original? It is a perfect example

Indeed, the ref. 1675 is not only my favourite Rolex, but also my favourite watch, period.
Of all the ones I've tried, I have yet to find something that I feel offers quite as optimal a combination of looks, ruggedness and refinement. The slim case and low profile make it a pleasure to wear that goes with anything. Yet I trust it just as much as any modern watch for stress-free unlimited use. Plus there's the GMT's massive presence in the history of aviation and space exploration. More so than any other watch I've tried, I'd say it's the complete package. Though it's not the rarest, fanciest or costliest, it's the one that I feel suits me best, and that I always feel comfortable wearing. No question that it would be the one I'd choose if I could only have a single watch. Hope you don't mind a few photos: service insert fat font insert |

Though I'm sure many 1675 appreciators are familiar with this photo, I reckon there's no harm in seeing it one more time:
To me, it shows how the plexi GMT is simply magic on the wrist. Though relatively understated by today's standards, it has presence and charm like few others. |

I presume he's the Ferrari Boss?
Cannot wait for my one owner 1970 1675 pepsi to arrive from the USA next month. Like you, i think they are one of the most verstsile watches of them all. Practicality is very high For all the reasons you stated, and if sealed no reason not to use swimming / recreational diving. |

Speedo, i love your passion. I thought of that dilemma already and took out insurance.... in the forn of a lovely 1016, and the ol' faithful (but immaculate) 16610 SS Sub.

Case is thinner than a Sub case. Less water resistance generally equals less case back. Sits flatter on the wrist. Plus you can wear it with a jubilee which adds even more comfort and super light weight on a jub. I have been predominantly a Sub guy for 30 years, but the 1675 is a special creature and right up there in my all time favorites to wear. You wear a 1016, IMHO a 1675 wears much like a 1016 just a touch larger but sits on the wrist similarly 👍🏻

As a Sub guy and a world traveler I've often wondered why I'm not attracted to the GMT. As I think about it, it's the bezel that is off-putting to me, the colors just take a specific point of view and only match certain attire. A lot of numbers on the bezel too, take into account the additional hour hand and it's very busy. That said, next time I'm in HK I'll look at some vintage examples like the red/blue one and see if I talks to me. Thanks again. |

You bet. You can also go straight black with silver numbers bezel insert on these. I have one but prefer the red and blue for some color. I think you will be surprised by the fit and feel. Especially comparing to a 5 or 6 digit Sub. If you run into one on a jubilee give that a try.

The 1675 is such a fantastic watch!!!
The more thin case compared to the Sub makes it so super to wear. You can varie between oyster, jubi, different Blue/Red hue inserts and black insert. A friend of mine once called her "The Barbie for real men" and he hit the spot :-) Here's one of my favs in different dresses...Ohhhh love them 1675s: |

Here are my two GMT "Pepsi" and I currently have a nipple dial "Rootbeer" in transit.
The 1675 with Fuschia insert on the left is absolutely my favorite watch in my collection. The 16750 with quickset date feature is my second favorite. I have several Submariners as well and completely agree with previous poster's comments related to the wrist comfort advantage enjoyed by the vintage GMT iterations. Great watches for any occasion |

The GMT 1675, what's not to love - it's a great reference. Here is one of mine, circa 1970. Besides being a great watch, complete sets make it even nicer.
