Daytona Dial Swap....????
Does anyone know of an aftermarket dealer that will replace a black daytona dial for a white dial? And does this ruin the value of the watch?

bd,
Welcome to the forum.. I thought this question deserved it's own thread so I moved it here.. Aftermarket Dealer and Rolex watch almost always mean a devaluation of your Daytona.. I suppose it's possible that one might be able to get hold of an authentic white dial and change it....no change in value.. But, I think you would probably get an aftermarket dial and your value would take a nose dive...

Decide on the colour of the dial and go for it. Whether it is black dial or white dial, it is still a Rolex. I wonder whether RSC will do the swap for you.

I dont think its a big deal. People do it all the time. Save your factory dial and replace it if you have to. If I could get a hold of one of those meteorite dials I would do it. I think they are real pricey though.

Why not just advertise "Want to trade black for white dial"? People are always looking.

I asked my AD this same question. After I bought my white-face, I had a little trouble adjusting to it and wondered if the black-dial would offer more contrast and be eaiser to see, so I asked them about swapping it. They pointed out on my receipt/gurantee that it specifically states what face the watch has on it, and changing would reduce the value; basically, they wouldn't do it.

i was told by an AD in the uk, that the dial can be changed 'free of change' on purchase of the watch. i will phone a few ADs tomorrow to ensure this fact is correct.

scott i was refering to the daytona. as in my case, ive been on the waiting list since last november... ive asked for a white dial... however if a black dial comes in first... at least i have the choice to get it changed... although i might have to wait some weeks before i get it back from rolex.
