DJ Issue...won't wind or run
Hi Folks,
Since many of you are experts thought I'd start here. I have a relatively new to me (1 year or so) 10 year old DJ. It was serviced by the folks I purchased it from right before I purchased it. It had been running great...holding a proper charge and all. Was within COSC spec as well. I wore it recently and didn't notice any issues. It's been sitting in my safe since then. Took it out this morning to wear and noticed that it won't wind up. I can twist the crown clockwise like I'm winding it but there is little to no resistance...and I've wound it 40ish times. I also shook it like wearing it to spin the rotor but still no charge and it won't run. When I shake it the seconds hand barely moves forward a second or two then almost goes backwards very slightly. I can change the date and time without issue using the crown. No physical damage to the watch. Thoughts, anyone? Thanks in advance. |

Sounds like a mainspring issue to me. I'm no watchmaker, though.

I guess it could have broken while it was running down in the safe after the last time you wore it. Assuming you put it away running.

I basically had the same problem on another watch brand could get it to run barely same as your describing and it was the mainspring.

Sounds good. Thanks all...was my first suspicion as well but thanks for confirming.
I guess the good news is that I'll get my crooked cyclops fixed at the same time! |

Heard back from my watch guy...definitely a mainspring. They also should be fixing the slightly crooked cyclops.
Hopefully it'll be back in hand within the next week or so! |
