Vintage? Or not??
When do we start calling the 16600 Sea Dweller "vintage?" This one has the "holes case." Does that make it more vintage?

I think most folk around here equate 'vintage' with matte dials and plastic crystals.

That's starting to change. Early 80's subs are sapphire with matte dials - definitely pretty vintage. The oysterquartz is from the 70's with sapphire and modern dial. However, no matter how you define vintage - that sd isn't vintage. It's not even very old.

Apparently the vintage definition in the antiques world is anything older than 20 years. However a 1995 Rolex doesn't exactly scream vintage to me

I usually look at a watch pre-1985 as vintage

Not really - mine's a 1990 E-Serial, and I can't quite call that vintage either. Classic - yes.
3135 movement, 'vintage'?... nah.

I guess if given enough passage of time, everything becomes vintage eventually.
To me, when I think of vintage it involves plexi crystals, and no tritanium lume with no surrounds. |

1.) Plexi 2.) Tritium 3.) No gold surround 4.) four digit reference 5.) Lug holes |
