3590.50 service in San Francisco
Hi - I have a 3590.50 that to my knowledge has never been serviced.
It's running about 30 seconds fast per day so I was thinking of having someone take a look. Should I take it to the Omega AD or is the an independent watchmaker in San Francisco that anyone can recommend? thanks!! |

Hello,
If its running that fast it might just be magnetized. An independent watchmaker or Omega should be able to fix it rather quickly and easily of that's the issue. Sorry, not from the Bay Area so can't recommend anyone. Other members will be able to help you there. Good luck! |

Thanks - Tourneau wanted to send it to their service center in LA but they recommended an independent who tells me that the movement lubrication is dry and needs to be cleaned and lubricated. He also says that they have to change the gasket, crystal and crown on every service to guarantee that moisture stays out.
Does this sound right? I don't really want to spend money unnecessarily and don't want to replace parts that don't need to be replaced. Advice much appreciated!! |

Search for a CW21 and see if they have an Omega parts account. There's a few CW21's in the South Bay. Worst case u can send it to Omega direct.

I would recommend giving Frank @ Downtown Watch Repair a call. I brought in my Planet Ocean for demagnetizing and he was a pleasure to speak to. I believe he worked at Omega for 12 years so your Speedmaster should be no problem for him.

Take it to your local AD...Tell them you would like to know the service history and if you should get it serviced. I had purchased a second-hand 300m and the watchmaker on duty regulated it for me while I waited.(free of charge) And gave me a travel case. Awesome service.

Resurrecting this. I have an 18 year old Seamaster, it still keeps time, but I know it's overdue for a service. Right now United Watch Repair is where I plan to take it but wanted to hear if there was anyone else I should consider. Thanks
