Guidance requested, 116710LN stopped
Hi all, today I took my three year old 116710LN back to my AD because it stopped working. Earlier in May I woke up to find my watch 15 minutes slow - this was the first time since purchase that the time was not accurate. I re-set the time and wound the watch hoping this would solve any problems (I normally don't wind the watch as I wear it daily). In any case, it slowed down again a week later and again 10 days after that. Today, it just stopped and won't run even after a wind. If you shake the watch it will run for a few seconds, that is all.
My AD is sending the watch back to the RSC in Toronto and I am asking all the knowledgable folks on this forum for their thoughts on the problem. I want to be prepared for whatever I am told by Rolex and my AD. Thanks and I know without actually taking apart the watch your feedback is kind of speculative. |

Might be a broken main spring. The last bit about the running for a few seconds after shaking has happened to me. RSC charged me $180 to fix on my GMT.

When's the last time you replaced the battery?
Did you shower with it on at one point? I heard even steam will destroy the watch. sounds like a $600 service is in your future. |
