Platona - Mega trade up

Hi guys

dont post very often..... but every now an again my collection needs curbed and reduced to a suitable level.

current Line up is:
DD2 YG 2013 champagne dial
PP 5711 Blue face
GMT2 BLNR
Omega GSOM

Now the issues is can I trade this in for a Platona for me + cash?
I will still have a newly acquired SD4K as my beater!!

Your experienced thoughts please

I wouldn't do that trade if it meant losing the 5711

Are you saying that you would trade all 4 watches for the Platona? Plus cash?

Not sure about condition/value of every piece, but that seems like the money's not on your side on that deal.

Nope. Consider a sky dweller instead of the gmt and dd.

All 4 for a Platona? No way... You'd be taking a bath financially.

Figure out some combo that isn't "all of them."

$50k USD is a rough target for Platona. Your DD2 / 5711 should have that covered. Unless you're getting ~$10k on top I'd pass

I'm all for consolidating for a nice piece. Would you really be happy with just one watch though?

I think the ideal duo would be 5711 & Platona. Everything else can go imo.

I'd trade that Omega and a huge pile of cash for the Daytona.

DD2 YG 2013 champagne dial
PP 5711 Blue face
GMT2 BLNR
Pt Daytona

Would be a SUPERB four watch rotation.

Doesn't seem right to let all your collection go, especially the PP Nautilus, for just one. You must have it bad for a Platona. Might want to take a pause and rethink that. Good Luck! Cheers!

I'd rather have the blue 5711, an SD43, and maybe a blue-dialed 116509 or even a white-dialed 116500. The majority here probably do not share this opinion, but I just do not care for the color scheme on the platinum Daytona (sorry).

The Platona is a great watch but is it worth them all? Only you can answer that, I would let the Omega go and take the cash I was going to add and put it towards either a steel Daytona C or one of the white gold Daytona C. I like the Platona a lot but I cannot think I would get 30k to 40k more pleasure out of one than my white dial Daytona C.

You can find a used Platona in great condition for $45k. I think you could sell the DD and PP and get close to the Platona, add a little bit of cash and you'll be good to go. If you sell all of those watches you should have significantly more than what grey market Platonas are going for (new I think they run $55k from trusted sellers and used $45k)

Good luck and please post pictures of my grail watch if and when you get it

Definitely hold on to the 5711. Don't make the mistake I did.
I bought mine at the AD at retail price.
I let it go and I am kicking myself now seeing what preowned ones are selling for.
It's a beautiful watch and seems to increase in value over time even if worn.
Very few watches increase in value like this.

It's a really bad deal for you. Pause and rethink your strategy.

I wouldn't let the 5711 go. All others are easy to replace.
