Pepsi on Grey Suede Strap - Yay or Nay?

I think rolex bracelets are some of the best in the game - but I just couldn't help and tinker / try out a strap on the pepsi -- especially as I'm accustomed to swapping straps out on the Panerais.

Picked up this 'suede' gray strap to try things out before I go crazy ordering more - but still don't know how I feel about it and I think the original bracelet just completes the watch that much better and gives it a much more rounded 'tool watch' feeling.

The suede strap though IS very comfortable and I'm not afraid of beating her up at work -- so might give it a few days to try her out.

Thoughts? Opinions?

I think it looks great. A navy blue strap with red contrast stitching would be pretty cool

Not bad....but like most Rolex I think the bracelet works better. Nice looking 16710.

I think it looks okay, nice to switch it up

But would match better with blue strap without the white stitch showing

I have to agree with Mr Sensui the watch is best fitted with a bracelet like a silver pepsi can.If going "Neytoh" is the flavour of the month, then I like this way. It's an Overkill but distressed blue leather or faded tricoloured nylon works for me

It looks ok, not a suede fan but as long as you like it that's all that matters.

I think detracts the beauty of the watch.

I really like it. Especially the grey. The Rolex bracelets are nice but it's not like this is a permanent mod. The op now has two great options instead of one.

Not bad. The Gray might work better with a Coke bezel but it looks good.

OK so I could not do it on the strap - of it went back to the bracelet.

I dont know if its the strap I got or just how the watch looks / feels naked without the bracelet but something didn't sit right with me on that.

The watch also 'felt' much cheaper to me without the bracelet.

Anyways...

I love Rolex on straps, especially older 5 digit GMTs actually. I think they look awesome and I find it actually highlights the watch head better than when on a bracelet.

That said, I don't love this strap. Color is a little meh, the stitching is too thick and chunky looking, and it looks like it has no taper which makes it seem a little bulky. Works for NATOs which I love too because they're so thin, but with leather I prefer some taper.

I'd try a nice and more finished brown strap of some sort, something just a touch less rustic, and I think you'd have a great combo.

This thicker, chunkier strap was its the fat thread stitches would probably be better suited to the chunkier 6 digit watch cases.

Yes - I think that's the same conclusion I came away with as well for now.

Back on bracelet for me in the meantime.

Me too. I put my Omegas on straps but my Rolex GMT2 stays on the original bracelet. IMHO, the original bracelets just seem like the best solution on Rolexes.

i can almost get behind a nice blue rubber strap, but it would only be for when my metal bracelet was out for repairs.

I don't think it looks bad at all visually, but dive watches belong on something at least water resistant even if you don't plan to get it wet. Nylon, canvas, sailcloth, mesh, rubber, maybe smooth treated leather backed with something....yes. Suede makes it seem like a fashion diver....and yes, I suppose that's what most are but still.

Yes, I intentionally left out NATOs....don't get me started on them.
