Best watch for a young lawyer?

Please keep in mind this will be my only Rolex watch until the day comes when I can afford a solid gold Submariner!

Also, please feel free to recommend a watch even if it was not included in the poll options!

Daytona. You need to be able to bill your clients in 6 minute intervals, so you need a chrono for that task.

DJ41, Daytona or GMT

DJ41 perhaps with smooth bezel as to not be too flashy.

Definitely a datejust. Timeless classic perfect for wear with a suit or casual.

I started to click on your poll with SubC date and then GMT, then saw the BLNR in your list and clicked it. You can't really go wrong with BLNR as your only watch. SubC is fantastic too, but unless you have a use for the depth rating, GMT and BLNR will give you an identical look (well, to a casual observer) with added functionality of GMT. BLNR simply gives you the amazing blue accent that has been known to add sex appeal and make you the target of love of all beautiful women on this planet at a nominal cost difference.

214270 Explorer 1 is the most at home in an office out of those options.

none of the above. 36mm datejust jubilee fluted, or something on a leather strap. NOT a sports watch.

I went for the BLNR for the poll as well, but I'd really have liked a DJ 41mm option. It just fits more with the culture he'll be in.

Datejust fits nicely under shirt and suit jacket. Not bulky like the sportier watches in the polls.

Nothing against the other watches all are lovely

I would argue a Sub would be more at home among sharks than a DJ41!

(Sorry sorry OP... had to squeeze that lawyer joke in! Some of my best friends are lawyers. Please forgive me. )

Submariner if your clients are underwater.

Otherwise, something on a strap, calatrava is my recommendation for the law firm, maybe an Iwc Portuguese.

Chaps

There is an age old joke that goes along the lines of :-

Question - Who is the odd man out,

1. An expensive Lawyer
2. A cheap Lawyer
3. Father Christmas.

The answer is of course the expensive lawyer because the other two are figments of the imagination.

So to answer our young aspiring lawyers question - buy a bloody big solid gold monstrosity and advertise your wealth as a symbol of your success. People like successful lawyers.

Regards

Mick - wearing a cheapo SS GMT2.

Does it really matter what you wear? No one is going to notice what watch you're wearing, so pick what sings you the most.

I think the DJ 41 would be a good option. You can certainly dress it up down.

Datejust 41 I reckon. Professional, classic, finishes off the suit and tie look.
