Rubber or jubilee?
Anyone like or have tried rubber strap for your vintage Rolex or Tudor?
I just changed to rubber strap for this Tudor day + date. I find the tropical strap matched the blue dial quite well. Hope you like it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Since you ask opinions;
It's plain ugly, fitting a gorgeous watch with 10 bucks worth of rubber. I really don't understand why anybody would want to bring down the appearance of the watch, the combo with the jubilee is perfect as it is. Good thing is we all like different things, otherwise the world would be a boring place. So go with what you like and enjoy it

I like it as a change up but always prefer a metal bracelet for watches that are made for one.

X3 A nice aged leather notched end with end link, or leather curved end to fill the gap.

Hello mate, it is not 10 bucks strap. If you know tropic strap, the tropic strap is not cheap. The rubber is super soft and comfortable to wear. I have tried the rubber strap on my Patek world timer as well, since Patek does not offer many reference with rubber strap except aquanaut.

Hi Adam, it is Oris tropic strap. It cost around $200 :). I am fan of rubber strap and have tried many different strap, for example Hirsh strap and I find the Oris tropic is the best.

Unfortunately I have given up the leather strap for long time. All my watches are with bracelet and rubber strap. Thanks for the suggestion.

Tudor made one for the hydronaut. I put it on my sub but found the rigidity to be irritating. It feels like the watch becomes a bangle. Mmm The Bangles! The oris one you is attractive.

Rubber can work nicely on a vintage watch, but only on dive watches, IMHO. I use one occasionally on my 5512. It makes sense functionally on a dive watch, but DDs and DJs are more elegant/dressier and look better on a Jubilee or Oyster. That blue Tudor DD above looks amazing on the Jubilee.

I have to agree with the majority above, your watch looks amazing on the jubilee. While I can appreciate how the rubber goes well with the bezel on this watch, it just doesn't look right overall. Maybe with a vintage diver, but a dressier watch like this one is just perfect with a metal bracelet.

It works to switch things up. I have an Everest strap on my GMT and love it.

If rubber is good enough for the new Daytona than I think it is just fine for your Tudor. I may be in the minority, but I think both are appealing. The jubilee is classic, and the rubber gives it a more sporty aesthetic. Enjoy!

IMO rubber looks passable on a dive watch because it's a dive watch thing, but forcing a dive watch thing onto another type of watch gives it a "cobbled together from parts" look.
For a DD, Jubilee, obviously. |

I don't care for the rubber. Jubilee looks best, but a nice simple leather strap can be ok too when you want to switch things up. Personally, not rubber though.

I say keep the Rubber B, it comes in handy during the Summer time and any other time you feel the need to switch it up from your Jubilee bracelet. |

Got to admit the DJ looks great on the jubilee. But no problem with the Rubber either & happily swop between bracelet , nato or rubber .I just think it would look better using curved ends or end links ,as I'm not too keen personally on the gaps straight straps leave , on either rubber , metal or leather .

Normally I hate rubber except at the beach but your particular example is the odd exception IMO. Your Oris strap is textured with roughly the same "lump size" as that bezel, and the colour works...I would wear that combo.
Typically when I am presented with a rubber strap on a proper non-dive watch my reactions range from "NO!" all the way to "HELL NO!" but I like this one. Not on the PP though |
