Help Wanted - GMT Master II Batman

Hello All!

I am new to the luxury watch world. I have been around, worn and researched luxury watches, but I have yet to own one.

I am currently on the fence and I need some seasoned help.

- 2013 GMT Master II Batman - $7,800
- Private seller, but he is the manager of a watch and jewelry store in well known mall.
- 2nd owner. He purchased the watch from his friend who purchased it at the sister company of the company the seller is the manager is at. He purchased it cash from his friend.
- Has never had work or service done, all original parts.
- Comes with EVERYTHING.
- Offering 1 year warranty on the movement through the jewelry store.

I need these questions answered.

1. Does this look like a legitimate rolex? How can I check? (I did try it on and the movement was current and it had proper weight.)
2. Is this a good price? (Regular new is 8,950 + Luxury Sales Tax)
3. What else should I be asking him?

Thank You, Photos

How would you have done this exactly?

I would start by matching the paperwork to the serial number on the watch.

I personally would go for a new one if he's asking 7800$. The joy of being the first owner and the peace of mind knowing all is real (not to mention the 5 year warranty) is worth the extra 1000$-2000$ IMO....

Pre-owned would be more tempting at 6500$-6800$ if you can have all checked out, (to the seller, 6800$ is equivalent to him selling it on ebay for 7800$ after fees, but without the risks that come with selling on ebay...)

Go new and save the headaches of not knowing or buy one on here from a trusted seller. I believe there are a couple for sale now in the for sale listings on the forum.

Not worth it for that little difference.

That little difference shouldn't force you to go through the kind of trouble you're asking for if you run into a problem. Either save up a little more, or pay a little more.

Even if you don't want to buy brand new, go through one of the well known sellers here. Much less risk, and you will get way more warranty leftover from the 5 years.

To be perfectly clear, you are not getting a deal here.

If buying new is not an option, go here, check prices and remaining warranty period:

OK
I saw the first link photo.
Now all your photos are blocked by photobucket as you need to pay.

The first photo link (thats now also gone) was not good enough to 100% authenticate the watch.
GMTII are well faked now, especially weight and feel.
I need decent dial photos with hands in different position to authenticate.

You can attach photos directly on the site here

PS: Warranty through a "jewellery store" is useless on a Rolex. Where do they get parts? Ebay???
