thinking of getting GMT master II batman

Hello guys,

I really like the colors of this watch, wanted to check your opinion,
also its weird to see " Govberg" selling on this site same watch pre owned for $9750. when new from Rolex.com list price is $8,950, whats the point of a pre owned one?

If you can find a new one for MSRP, I would be a good choice.

Make Govberg an offer they will deal. I have purchased from them and they are great to deal with.

I hope you get to check one out and see it in the metal before buying.

I wouldn't pay over list for a BLNR, but that's just me.

BLNR seems to be relatively easy to get in the US. My AD could get me one in a couple of weeks if I were to order it. Don't pay more than MSRP for one.

As long as the Govberg one has another AD on the warranty and is genuinely a used piece, then that is how the market stands.

I was just in Jamaica on a cruise and the Rolex dealer at the port had a brand new BLNR with all stickers in tact that he would sell for $8,125 no tax (although you could pay tax when entering back in the U.S.). I thought that was a good deal and would've bought it if I didn't get mine a few months ago.

Another shop had some Jaeger LeCoultre watches, which I like for a dress watch, with a nice 30% discount from MSRP. On my next cruise I may have to pick one up.

Check out WatchRecon and find a trusted seller. You can get one for under msrp.

As a recent seller of the BLNR, I think the recent hype about Rolex limiting production has artificially raised prices on the used market.

If the watch is listed for $9,750 still probably can get a better deal on a new one, also I had bad luck with them, personal experience when calling to negotiate on price

If you are patient, you will be able to get one new at dealer for the sticker price. It may take a few months.
A dealer near me called me 3 weeks ago, offered me one. I already got it from somewhere else. It was about 3 months from they putting me on the list till they called. So if you are not in a rush, just go to your local dealers and ask to be put on the list. And when do call you, get it. Don't take a day to think about it. Because dealer sales usually call all the customers who show interest and they don't sit in the case long.

A used one, maybe. Not BNIB.

Unless you know someone I don't. In which case, PM me. :)

Got the BLNR this year from US AD after wait listing 2.5 months...got for 7% under retail out the door. I would suggest not paying over retail for the BLNR since the wait time is not that bad, the Daytona-C however...

I wouldn’t even pay list for a BLNR. I think (in the US) they’re able to be had for a slight discount with the right relationship and the right AD.

Not impossible to get from an AD. Got mine walking into an AD in August, and I'm told they can be ordered with a few months wait. I would not pay over retail for one.

You can buy from AD at below $8950 MSRP, while an online seller (Jomashop shop with in house warranty and NO ROLEX WARRANTY) is advertising it for $10.4k?

Good luck with that.

I wasn't trying to be offensive, sorry if it came out that way.

Just read your thread on your LN to BLNR switch, and you did say you were getting a 'VERY fair' price and that the BLNR was sitting at the AD's case for a while at least (multiple visits). During that same time, DavidSW had two or so in his collection. Reason I know, is that I myself have been thinking about replacing BLNR with SD43, but I and my wife just love BLNR too much to let it go. Anyway, I have been visiting DavidSW's page frequently to keep an eye on the pricing of both his SD43 (which is a no brainer for me since AD price + tax puts me almost there on SD43)... as well as his BLNR pricing (for trade in valuation purposes.)

In the last week or two Dave doesn't have any BLNRs advertised on his site. The prices from what I have seen have gone up, making me itch more with the idea of the swap.

Anyway, now you know what my opinion is based on.

I think the grey market are selling them over MSRP to people that want the watch right away. People that cannot wait and must have it now have no negotiation power, but to pay what the Grey dealers ask for.

BLNR is a desirable watch. But not like Daytona, Sky-D, or even the Sub-LV. You could get lucky finding one that just arrived in a local dealer. But they don't sit long in the case, especially during recent months.

Regarding discount.... that's harder. Most dealers will not do that. The most they will do is ship the watch out of state without tax. they know if you don't buy it, someone else will in a week or less. But, it is not impossible. I got one at a good discount. 3 months ago when I was searching, I called every single dealer in Chicago, northern Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin. 5 dealers had the watch, but no one would sell a penny less. I found one in Missouri and decided to travel to get it. I have found a dealer that I want to develop good relationship with.

All good

Don't let that BLNR get away! SD43 is awesome also, but there's something special about the BLNR for sure.

It seems prices on all the harder to get SS watches are sky high right now on the gray market. I think I was pretty lucky for getting mine at an 11% discount from an AD

I bought my blnr rcently as well. Bought it in Canada as watches are alot cheaper with the conversion rate.

The blnr from the AD was $10,200 cad, which worked out to about $8,300USD or so at an exchange rate of 1.23. As of today, with the conversion rate even higher at about 1.29, the blnr is at about $7,900usd since the regular price of $10,200 cad remains the same.
