Hitting no 10 today and may be a point to stop now

Just picked up a 116610 today in response to my ADs call last night.

Just sat down in my office a while ago to do a stock-take and realized I’m hitting the mark of 10 Rolexes since the Daytona C which got me started it all in Dec 2016 ...

The sound of this isn’t right somehow - almost like I’ve turned into an addict - I’m thinking to myself I must stop buying more Rolex from now on ....

In case you wonder here’s the list I came up with:

1. 116500LN white Daytona C
2. ‪116520 black
‪3. 16520 (U series) black
4. 16520 (A series) black
‪5. 16570 Polar
6. 1680 ‪red Mk I
7. 116660 deepsea blue
8. 126600 seadweller red 50th anniversary
9. 114060 Sub C no date
10. 116610 Sub C

If you had to keep only one, which one would it be and why?

Pbly the 1680 red as u can’t buy the exact same watch with just money.

All the modern references you can more or less just pay for.

It’s the patina and all for the 4-digit which makes it the most special (to me). It’s still working great (I wouldn’t water test it though) plus the hunt for this watch is memorable and was an interesting journey (from a super nice gentleman here on TRF who I never met in person).

All divers and Daytona's and 8 black and 2 white dials....Time to step up to PM and get some color in your collection!

Let's see a pic of 3,4, and 6!

Agree 100% - time to step up your game and flip some overlapping pieces and upgrade to Precious Metal and introduce some color. Maybe a 116618LB to start off with. Then a DD40 or a PM Skydweller

You wont go back.

Great collection!

I don’t think that 10 is too many pieces (1 per day plus a couple of special occasion pieces), though would caution you against opening the door to PM pieces, or to AP or PP - as you will then definitely need a larger watch box and likely a larger safe!

Stopping is easy. It is just "stuff" so sell some of them off. Do you own your possessions or do they own you?

I would keep 5, and 6. Swap 1 for a black dial (or rose gold model), trade 3 and 4 for an spectacular 16520 white dial model, sell the rest and buy a PP 5711 blue dial and a leather band rose gold dress watch.

Man! Lots of addicts here - myself included!!im up to 4 Rolex and 1 Tudor for me and 2 Rolex for my wife! All in under 24 months time! And like others stated - as soon as I find/purchase one - within a few days I’m back here and lurking in the sales corner for what to get next! Just snapped this last night and didn’t include my wife’s pieces.

Maybe you should just slowen your pace instead of stopping. Buy 1-2 per year from now on? It seems you have enjoyed your hobby, so why stop?

Watch collecting needs a good base, you certainly have it now, wonderful collection!

It's taken me about 12 years to acquire 7 watches and the odd number is really bugging me. I already know a Speedy will probably be added next summer for the 50th moon landing anniversary, but honestly half the fun is researching and trying to decide what should be next.
