BLNR, Hulk and Sub C for DD2?
Hi
I have never owned a gold Rolex and it's was always something i said I'd do one day... Promised one to myself for my 40th birthday (3 years away) but I'm thinking about doing it a bit earlier I'd need to trade a few of the ones I already own if I wanted to do it though I'd be trading the three listed in the title for a RG DD2 with black concentric or wave dial This would leave me with Daytona C, AP Royal Oak Chrono, Pepsi GMT and Sub Kermit What are your thoughts? |

I would not. I prefer the BLNR and LVC over the DD2 regardless of price.
Having said that, you'd still have a nice variety in your collection if you make the trade and if you don't think you'd miss the others, go for it. |

As much as I like the DD, I wouldn't do a three for one...a twofer would be much better. Preferably keeping the LV-C.
Since you've got a few years, don't do anything hasty. |

God no. Maybe trade one of the subs towards it, but not all 3.

Agreed, 3 for 1 seems a bit much.

It is not something I would do. I would try to limit it to one or two plus cash for the DD. Ideally if you get away with just trading the Sub C and cash inside 3 years then that would my preferred route.

personally I would not. But given your collection, I can see why it kind of makes sense. You have a kermit, you have a pepsi GMT, but still... you'd be giving up some gems.
Maybe just sell the sub C, keep the Hulk and BLNR and save for the remainder. |

As someone who moved on from his DD40, I will tell you right now. No matter what you do, or how nice the DD2 is, you will ALWAYS miss the easy link or glide lock.

I think the trade value is correct, about 8k each for the LVc and BLNR, and about 6.5-7k for the Sub.
I would want to keep either th LVc, BLNR, or both. But if you think the DD is the ONE, then go for it. If not, if it’s just curiosity, then don’t do it. |

I'd also say to keep the BLNR and LVc. Trade/sell the SubC + cash for a DD2

Have you tried a DD2 on your wrist?
If not I think that’s where you should start. I was convinced that this piece was where I wanted to start, but after trying it on multiple times, I just could not get the fit to work for me. Zero adjustability in the bracelet means you have to be comfortable wearing it slightly loose if your wrist is at all prone to swelling. I think it’s a phenomenal piece, but just be sure it works right for you |

I'd trade the Sub and cash toward it, but I'd have a hard time letting go of the other 2.

If you love the DD2, then do it!
You'll feel amazing wearing it and although you probably won't miss those pieces they are easy to replace if you do. I sold my DD2 to finance a 5712. I love the 5712 but the truth is that I miss the DD2 a lot! |

The DD2 is a lovely timepiece I would trade 1 x watch and add some cash. You should not rush.

Thanks for your input all
I don’t feel I’d miss the three mentioned (maybe hulk a small bit). Haven’t worn any of them for at least 6 months now Tried on the DD2 today just to get an idea of it on the wrist. Hasn’t made the decision any easier but I love the feel of it |

This sounds like a trade that will end in regret....I would add. The Day Date wouldn't give you the flexibility of what you're trading in.

Go ahead, the ceramics don't seem your cup of tea as you've chosen only those to sacrifice. I would prefer a DD40 now having had a DD2.
