IMHO with the Datejust you have to have fluted and jubilee.

I at least agree about the bezel. Ultimately it should be what the OP wants most and can feel comfortable with.

I think if you're set on a smooth bezel, then jubilee is the way to go. While traditional WIS-dom says you must do fluted/jubilee, I think Rolex hit it out of the park with the smooth/jubilee combination.

The jubilee adds just the right amount of contrast and interest to the bezel and watch in general...it's so versatile, I love it.

And a pic is worth a thousand words...

It's not blue, but you get the idea.

I agree completely. I tried on a fluted bezel and one of my customer's Day-Date that's fluted. I just couldn't' pull it off or feel comfortable with it. They are beauts no doubt but just not for me.

I'm so torn between the blue, rhodium, and possible white dial.

Both blue and dark rhodium are nice. I went dark rhodium. The gentleman above is partially to blame with the wrist shot of his.

100 % Agreed.
We are coming down to the pointy end of the model run out now.
I wouldn't let the grass grow under your feet if you intend to purchase new.
Used values will be very good though

I'm still waiting on mine, fluted bezel, blue dial, Jubilee bracelet. My AD says I'm #1 on the list, but we'll see.

Nice, I don’t think I could pull off the fluted but I may go back to my AD and try some more on.

Another point to consider is that many owners report the fluted bezels show scratches far less readily than the smooth bezels. So, despite being of a softer material, their appearance is paradoxically more durable.

You want jubilee, it’s so comfortable and it really is stunning.

Exactly. Fluted is great. To me Datejust = Jubilee. That's why I didn't get a DJII. I'm glad because now it looks bloated.

Anyone can pull off a fluted bezel. Easy. You shouldn't have any concerns there.

Show me your Blue Dial DJ41

I went with oyster and fluted as I think Fluted and Jubilee at 41mm is a bit much. The oyster also makes the watch a bit more versatile.
