Are you a watch guy (or gal) or a Rolex guy (or gal)?

Just like the title says.....I am technically the former as I have an Omega in the lineup, but I rarely wear it. I really want to branch out, specifically to JLC and Panerai. But when it comes down to it I always want to wear a Rolex.

Rolex exclusively at this point. Started in 1988 with Rolex, branched out to others over the years (AP, Vacheron, IWC, Breitling, Breguet, Ulysse Nardin, Cartier, Omega, Tudor and Panerai just to name a few) but always found myself going back to Rolex.

Definitely a watch guy. I love Rolex but I’ve owned AP, VC, IWC, Panerai, Omega among others.

Good question. I consider myself a watch guy because first of all I am interested in Haute Horlogerie (PP, VC, AP, JLC etc.)
Rolex comes in to play because they are sturdy watches (I dropped mine already two times, banged it against anything several times, still runs smooth). I would have to be so careful with a PP or JLC that it would be no fun to wear. So for me Rolex is Haute Horlogerie for the real world and as close as I can get to “the real thing”.

Wow, that's quite a branching out. Do you still have all or some of those or is your collection just Rolex now?

Watch guy. My Rolex is my grail, but I still enjoy the eye candy of other brands.

I've a LeColture Memovox alarm in 14k case from 1955, and I love it. I've a Rolex Presidents 18k 1803, a Daytona Zenith 16528, and Submariner 1680 from 1978. Wear the Sub when I wear a watch.

I would say I'm a watch guy but currently have just a Rolex collection. Although I appreciate other brands, I unfortunately don't have the means to buy them without selling what I have.

That's a great point. It's awfully costly to have too many high end watches.

Rolex, with one exception, the Tudor BB. But the more I think of it, when I get additional watches, they will be Rolex models.

Definitely more of a Rolex guy than a watch guy. I’ve tried to wear other brands more but always keep going back to my Rolex. There’s just nothing like it.

I was anti-Rolex for a while, then went full on in on joining this forum and now I have a nice balance across my 3 top brands.

Tell me about it LOL
Only Rolex left. Professionals, 40mm case with crown guards (mix of 4,5 and 6 digits) in either SS or PM.

I like watches in general but only collect Rolexes. I happen to also have a couple of Omegas. So I consider myself a Rolex guy.

I’m a watch guy but I can’t follow watch pages on IG that aren’t mostly rolex because sometimes those Richard milles or skeleton watches are too much to stomach. They have weird watches that have weird complications and beads that make graphics and look like the Torah and that’s where I draw the line LOL

I’m a watch guy when it comes to rolex, AP and patek but everything else is on a case by case basis

I wear my Rolex most of the time, but I love my Patek and AP watches nearly as much, and in some ways more.
