Rolex Datejust 1603 - Buckley Dial Question - ‘Swiss Only’
Hi Rolex Forum Community,
I’m new here, but was hoping the community could help weigh in on a question regarding a vintage Rolex Datejust ref 1603 with a white “Buckley dial” that I have recently purchased. I received it yesterday and upon comparing it to photos of others, I noticed that at the 6 o’clock position it simply reads ‘Swiss’ as opposed to ‘T Swiss T’ as the vast majority of others do. While I haven’t confirmed the serial yet, I was told this watch was dated from 1974 - which is after when I’ve learned Rolex stopped making Radium dials with the ‘Swiss’ only markings. Might someone be able to help explain why this dial is this way? Possibly a service dial? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you. |
