Blro prices are falling?
Hello everyone,
I am reading in other blogs that Rolex is starting to send out large for Rolex quantities of the new gmt2 ss blro with the jubilee bracelet. Is anyone hearing from their authorized dealers that this is happening? Are you getting your calls to pick up the watch. I have spent $30k in the last two years with my AD and they keep telling me they haven’t even received one but they will get me one of f I am willing to patient. They are telling me I will have one within a year. Is this reasonable? I appreciate any insight you can provide me. Sincerely, Still waiting for ss Daytona for the last two years and now blro |

I’ve said it before but the Daytona and BLRO are two very different pieces. Given that the BLRO uses a pretty simple movement compared with the Daytona movement. The BLRO should, in theory, be a fairly standard piece. So yeah, I think supply will start to ease a little. I may well be wrong but from what I understand the Daytona movement complexity restricts its supply somewhat.
Prices do seem to be falling. There’s one on the sales section here that started at $24k almost a month ago. It’s now $19+something. That’s a big drop in the space of a month - albeit the original asking price was lunacy to begin with. |

They’re dropping for sure. I think they’ll settle at around 13–14

Grey prices are dropping. I’ve been told from the release that my ADs rep is saying that distribution will be similar to what the BLNR was albeit that was back in the 2013 economy. (Less demand)
I’m expecting mine late summer/early fall if this is the case. DavidSW kind of chuckled at me when I told him that and I know AD info is what it is but I tend to believe it and it looks to be trending that way. Last year the 126600 seemed to distribute more quickly so we all shall see. One point of interest to me will be how the grey BLNR prices react as the SS BLRO settles down. |

What? I bought one from your AD a month ago and flipped it.
The grey prices on these are crazy. I'm hoping for LN and BLNR distribution levels so we aren't waiting stupid amounts of time like on the Daytona. I'm all for rare watches but a GMT shouldn't take years to acquire. |

Can you still function and live life tomorrow? If the answer is yes, then you can wait a year or two just for a watch. :)

My AD received four BLROs since March, so about one a month. I'm on the list since the day of the announcement at BW2018 but there are "more than 20 people" before me, my AD didn't want to be more specific back in March. He told me two weeks ago face to face "be patient, we will call you, you will receive it, you'll see".

There was a first batch for sure. Incomings have slowed considerably since. So it’s not a steady stream at this point
Way to early to speculate as market price isnt even set yet. The only thing we have now is the "i want to be first price" and that isnt the same thing as an actual market price.

They will keep on being delivered but they definitely are not flooding the market. It’s going to take a long time for prices to come down significantly, if retail prices don’t go up first, there is just so much demand and the price point is pretty accessible.
If you want one I’d give it another few months for the majority of the ‘must have it first’ Buyers to get theirs, and then just see where the market is and find the best deal and go for it. Got to be better than playing AD games if you really want one. |

Seems BLROs are indeed flowing in at a nice pace. Wait it out for AD call.

You do know that you can lead a normal life while still being on a list, right? It's not like watching a pot boil.

Gray prices for the 126710 are nuts. 120+% markup? That’s GOT to come down. Initial scalper prices for new models are always sky high. U.S. retail price is $9250.

Who cares what grey prices are if we all are waiting on our AD’s and not flipping?

I think the prices will come down, that's only logical as more hit the market. That said, the availability of these pieces remains to be seen which will obviously dictate the secondary market.
The Daytona has had lower production numbers for some time. It is no surprise that ceramic steel Daytonas continue to be difficult to source long after their debut. In theory, GMT-Masters should be as common as Submariners. I understand that no stainless steel professional model is considered easy to get at this moment, but I expect there to be more frequent shipments of this model to ADs. Am I certain of this, absolutely not. If the BLRO is handled similarly to the BLNR, eventually I could see the model waitlist being a matter of months as opposed to a matter of years. Surely this is all conjecture. Rolex may have designs to restrict the production of this model as well for all I know. I am just basing my opinion off what we have seen. I think the secondary market inflation at the moment is a reaction to the fact that all stainless steel professional models are difficult to get at this time and this happens to be the newest and hottest. |

Huh. Well, I'm sure these other blogs must have information about Rolex distribution. I would stick with them, as they would be the only ones who do.

its really 10k with tax which is what 99% of AD buyers at retail pay. But yes, i think its settling lower... at 15k so still a big premium though.
