Two Tone Zenith Daytona....good value?

It's no secret that the SS daytona's are where the value is, but with the zenith prices, particularly the inverse 6 prices inching closer to 30k+ is there any value in picking up a two tone inverse 6? The prices seem to be right around 10-12k for a complete mint condition set.

Is there a particular two-tone model that is more desirable than others? Black Face, Silver Face,White Face etc. ?

Desirability is as important as rarity. Even if the TT Zenith Daytonas are now more rare and more unique and should theoretically be highly desired as a result, that lack of demand is what keeps the price low. Nearly everyone wants SS over TT because it's more practical.

Even if TT catches fire in general, the Zenith Daytona will still have to compete with TT GMT variants. More people find the GMT more practical.

If you like the TT Zenith for the movement and physical case/bracelet design details, by all means find one that you want and buy it. But, go into it for the love of the watch, not for the potential future value.

Basic microeconomics. Demand for TT Zenith Daytonas doesn't outstrip the supply of them, as compared to SS ZDs.

Prices on SS ZDs have gone up close to 200% since their last "low point" (I remember A-serial sets being offered in the $10K range circa 2011 or thereabouts). TT ZD sets could be had then in the $7K range, so a 50-75% increase compared to prices now.

They are good value but not good investments when compared to SS models. Maybe a NOS piece would rise in value at a good rate but then you could never wear it

I have both a 16520 and a 16528. I considered a 16523 for my wife. Not sure I would wear one but I do appreciate their beauty

TT are the cheapest but its still a daytona

To answer your question, yes most TT Rolex watches is good value. In terms of investment then no, TT are not good investments. Buy the watch you like, not the watch someone else will want in the future.

I just want to throw this in there, another Daytona style option. I have looked at the TT version and they are a good option. The Tudor Big Block chrono is a sexy watch, and a good option if you don't have the coin for a stainless daytona. I realize they don't have the zenith movement or the coronet, but god they are cool.

yep TT rolexes are gorgeous lookers and were always my favorite. i have plenty SS sport models kicking around but it's the TT models i enjoy the most. for me nothing beats a TT datejust. daytona? got both versions but the TT is the one i prefer. value down the road? i don't care

The question has nothing to do with, "I'm dying to get a Daytona but I can't afford anything else but TT." It's just simply, TT Zenith Daytona's with Inverse 6 are very cheap right now compared to others 50-75% less in price, They can easily be found for 10-12k where an inverse 6 SS is going for 25-30k+

Why don't they hold value as well, and what's the potential it will go up significantly like the other Zenith's. Is this a modern trend or has it always been the case with Rolex.

Majority of people don’t like and won’t buy a 2 tone that’s why they are soo much cheaper.... common sense

A lot of people don’t like two tone because that’s what they’re told not to like. The new Root Beer 126711CHNR comes out and people are like “ahh gold is nicer than stainless steel after all”.

It’s just like the TT 1675 GMT, TT Sub of all years. They are TT and will never bring the same.
