Rolex Submariner 16610 - New Purchase - Are my lugs too thin?

Hi guys,

I recently purchased this 1997 U series Submariner. It was recently serviced and I must admit it does look pretty good.

However, should I be concerned about the lugs? They do look a tad thin, especially on the crown side. Thoughts?

Yes the lugs are uneven comparing to my 16613 never polished. Is it an issue, that's up to you !

The lugs on the crown side have always been slightly thinner on most all of the professional range over the past 40 plus years.

Lugs are designed to be thinner on the crown side. Don't worry

The watch has been polished, which is normal for it's age. Lower right lug has some uneven awkward polishing.

Dont worry about it because as previously noted the lugs are always thinner on crown side and even if the polish was overdone there is no remedy to that either. its like cutting hair, you could always cut more but once cut its gone !!!

Nice watch. If you are worried about the polishing you can send it to Rolex for a service and ask for new case.

It is. A friend recently had a much cherished Submariner serviced and sadly the case was beyond repair. Rolex sold him a new case and bracelet, etc, and now he is very proud to wear it.
