I feel that price is high for that watch.

Box and papers are nice but the case has been recut and it also looks to have some service parts.

Nice but not 11k

Case is thick and recut. Looks amazing.
All else are service parts.
You can do better

I kind of like a luminova dial on a 1680 as a 2nd vintage sub.

Given the service parts & well executed recut case, it's at the higher end of value currently . But prices are always on the up ,and it really depends on if your planning to wear it or put it in a safe for 20 years or so . If your going to actually wear it then it's a good example , if it's going into the safe then I wouldn't personally .

Difficult one ... it seems to be towards the higher price end (for US) but box and papers is fantastic and a great case.

I think it depends on if your are happy with service luminova dial .. if so I'd barter a discount and have it as your daily.

Looks AMAZING! Personally, I feel it's a very nice daily wear that not everyone will be able to obtain. That alone says volumes and makes it a valuable commodity. Of course I'm a bit prejudiced cause I have a similar 1680 on my wrist everyday.

At this moment no price would pry it off my wrist.

For me it would be a buy at $9.5... If I had it burning a hole in my pocket.

Perfect chamfer on the lugs for one thing but I'd have to see the before picture to see if it had a bad polish job where the sides were "rounded". In that case the sides usually need to be reground to be straightened/squared. I'm currently having this done to my 1680 as it suffered from some terrible polish jobs in the past (before I acquired it).

Agreed, at $9.5K, I think that would be a fair price. I probably hunt down a nice Mk.3 insert though (with no pip and I'd just have the Luminova pip transferred). I dunno why, but I really hate the service insert on the 1680's...maybe cuz the font is so thin...makes it look more modern than it is?

Not a fan of a "vintage" watch with non-vintage parts, especially for that price. However, I could see the appeal for some watch lovers. Try to get to price down.

More minor ... I'm not sure that the set is all original to the watch. Why are there two case back stickers? And I think that translation booklet/leaflet is for a non-chronometer Rolex, like a 5513 or 6263. (My 6263 came with one like that.) I believe the chronometer version in the late '70s-early '80s has a dark green cover is more like a booklet, not this leaflet style.
