What’s up with my dial?
Recently purchased and received a 16760 GMT from ‘87 and noticed some streaks along the dial. Dial looks original. Any ideas what could have happen?

If this happened suddenly - ie it wasn’t like that when you purchased it, it is probably the crystal and some soapy water should fix it. If it is the dial, could be water damage.

That looks like it's on the dial as it seems like the lines aren't going over the plots. it's like someone wiped the dial.

That’s a good point. If so I’m surprised how easily the dial damaged from wiping. Possibly someone tried to scrub off gloss of the dial? I purchased this fairly cheap online and I guess I’m paying the price. Everything looks original though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So I just got the watch back from an authorized Rolex tech and he also thinks the dial was wiped down incorrectly at one point leaving marks on the dial surface. Everything else is authentic. In terms of the future value, do you think it would be worth it to swap out the dial or should I keep as is?

No cleaning will remove those lines. It's damaged beyond repair. Someone already tried to clean the dial and it obviously didn't work.

I agree. Dial is scratched by the mishandling of a bumpkin.

Can you return to seller? Was it misrepresented ? If not, I would replace the dial unless you like it’s current look. I think it’s future value will be better with a clean dial vs current one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

If it’s eBay, you can still seek help with eBay even if seller states no return if the description failed to mention this damage. This will definitely affect the resell value. My $0.02.

Send it back unless you think the deal you got is still a deal, when you factor in the cost and fee of a new dial.
