"seems like a great guy" I would want a reference from someone who actually purchased a watch and was happy.
Probably not an issue but I think you need to do due diligence |

Mike asked if anyone bought from Oscar, nit if you would buy from him. Mike, get some references from Oscar. That is your best bet.

i'm not sure if this will help. i'm having a hard time selling my DJ i asked him for help. i sent it to him with no problem to help me sell it sadly still no success. the watch came back to me with no issues at all. then again he's my "bestfriend" here in the forum. He sold me some mags too. that's why he gave me a good review as a buyer.

If you want my opinion, I would do your homework on this guy. He has not been around a long time and based on his posts he has little knowledge of the brand....regarding his post count, quantity does not equal quality for me.

What is important is honesty and integrity, so a buyer can rely on the seller to supply the item given with an honest and accurate assessment. I'm sure there are some sellers who have a great deal of knowledge, but do not fully disclose all the aspects of the watch. If Bodybump has dealt with TempoKing and he can vouch for Bodybump then that's a good reference of a 'buying/selling experience'.

I first want to state that I am not trying to discredit you in any way. I have never had a transaction with you. I initially was going to walk away from this thread, but since you have drug me back into it with the above post, which, for the sake of the forum, I will choose to ignore. I will explain my initial post with further detail, so here goes. "If you want my opinion, I would do your homework on this guy. He has not been around a long time...." I have been frequenting different Rolex forums daily for over the past 4 years and I have seen many people come and go. On any forum there are your "flash in the pants" people who post like crazy then disappear for no reason. I am not saying that you are one of those people, but given the fact that you have been a member since September of 2008, not a very long time in my opinion, a perspective buyer should "do their homework". This means checking references with others that have dealt with you in the past....on this forum or any other. Seems to make sense right? There are many sellers that have been around for years that are known not only on this forum, but numerous others. I have always lived on the statement "buy the seller, not the watch" and so far it has worked. Next statement. ”...based on his posts he has little knowledge of the brand.” Buying and selling pre-owned Rolex involves a certain element of risk for both the buyer and seller. As I stated earlier, you have been around the forums since September and learning the nuances and characteristics of the brand takes time. Admittedly you have stated that you have "little knowledge about Rolex" and as a buyer that would concern me. I am sure you would agree that replicas have come a long way from where they were 10 years ago, so determining a fake watches (and parts for that matter) from an authentic watch is becoming all the more difficult. And finally “Regarding his post count, quantity does not equal quality for me” All I meant by this was to say, just because an individual has a lot of posts, does not mean that the person has credibility. Again I do hope you understand my above points and reasons for stating them, but if you wish to discuss this matter further, please do it via PM. ~Scott
