Just saw several SS sports models in one AD!

Just dropped by an AD here in Pakistan. They have a Pepsi GMT, Two toned GMT, GMT LN, two Sub NDs, a couple Explorer IIs, and a couple YMs. I was blown away...they had nothing in stock two months ago when I was here.

I told them I’d take the BLRO if it was available, and was flatly told that it was spoken for and they stick to their commitments (which is refreshing to see given the current market). The Sub NDs are available, as was the GMT LN. I didn’t ask about the others.

The only one spoken for was the BLRO. The others were available I believe. The Sub NDs were definitely available.

I’m afraid if he had said I could buy the BLRO, I’d have done it...and I just got the LN. a month ago lol.

Good on you for not buying a subc just because it was there and flippable.

I considered buying it for a moment, but to actually wear. I just don’t see myself putting the GMT LN down though. I gave my 5 digit SubDate to my Dad to wear for the rest of his life, so I currently don’t have a pure diver.

I think what’s interesting is that ADs are starting to get more inventory...so maybe (as other threads have suggested), the “shortage” is nearing an end..?

Not really because demand is still so high that an increase in supply will make no difference other than in very low demand areas and Rolex would be foolish to over-allocate to them when some places like London have the Subc at a £2K premium and wait lists in the 20s and 30s long.

Same thing in happened to me in Italy. SS Skydweller was in the window. Asked to try it on and did that, never once telling me it was spoken for. Handed him my CC and said he would need to call his manager. Came back and said the manager said it was spoken for. Saleman was pissed and embarrassed. Of course I was hot!

Well it isn’t Richter and Phillips … I just called them and they don’t have a single sport model so that pretty much narrowed it down to the only other A.D. which is James free jewelers

When they say spoken for, I have a strong feeling it hasn't been sold yet. Spoken for in the sense that you'll be offered the watch as a perk after buying one of their PM Day Dates lol

Friends, you guys have all probably heard the phrase "too good to be true"...this AD in Pakistan International Watch company has many SS Sports models available...but the prices they ask are higher then Greys!!! I saw the BLRO and the SS Black Daytona in the window and couldn't believe my eyes!! When I went inside they asked around US$ 18,000 for the BLRO and $ 22,500 for the Daytona...

This was what I was guessing as well. I vaguely recall someone posting a thread about having a similar experience in Pakistan. Essentially the same story - hard to get watch readily available, but priced well above MSRP.

They told me it was around $10,000, which included the 13% tax. No mention of selling above grey market prices. *

Who did you speak to? That’s very interesting...wonder what a call to Rolex Corporate would yield.

25 lacs?!?! Assuming that's Rupee, which would be 2.5M Rupee, or ~$34k USD???

This is the Pakistan Rupee not Indian Rupee...the current exchange rate is 1 USD = 132 PKR

Some ADs put spoken for watches in the case for the time before they are picked up by the buyer so customers can see and enjoy them. Pretty neat thing to do, I think.
