Tudor GMT or Rolex OP 39
Been a while since I’ve chimed in.
The fiancé and I are looking to buy wedding gifts for each other. She is giving me an option of a watch within a 5k USD budget. I have currently been a one watch man for about 4 months now. Decided to sell off the collection, keep the sub and suffer through watch rehab for a bit. If you were to add another watch to a collection only consisting of a SubC date Would it be the Tudor BB GMT or the Rolex OP39 in white or black Would love to hear opinions |

I love the white Op... there’s no wrong choice here. I personally would get the GMT

I would go with BB GMT. It adds colour and complication. OP is a great watch, but black dial is too close to the Sub, and white dial looks too sterile for OP.

OP - I just don’t get the Tudor hype and 39 is a much better timeless size than 41

I have the OP 39 White and it's really good. Works with so many straps and quite discreet on a NATO. Most people don't realize it's a Rolex until I tell them so.

White OP looks more elegant and timeless, but the Tudor GMT is a lot more functional. Which is more important for you?

White OP. I just sold a Tudor Black Bay (also have a sub) and have zero regrets. White OP39 will likely be next for me as well.

I vote for OP white....looks silver in low light....very versatile. Can be sporty, casual, and even formal.

Had both the Tudor GMT and the OP white, both are stunning. I’d go with the OP if you’re other watch is a sub as you’ll have most situations covered between those two. The GMT may be redundant as you won’t have something a little more “classy” for special events. Plus the Op wears smaller and I appreciate the variety when I don’t want something huge on my wrist.
The GMT wears small for a 41mm but at the end of the day, it’s still a 41mm Go with what you want though as following the herd for opinions has never really worked for me and usually ends in regret. Both are great, so there is no wrong choice! Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tudor GMT or Rolex OP 39
OP and sub are a nice combo, IMO

Both are nice watches but I would and did go with the Tudor GMT. I like the look and the watch can be put on various other straps for more of a vintage look. The price should also figure in as you will be able to save on the Tudor unless you are going pre-owned or the AD will discount.

OP would be my choice by a mile. Have you considered the Blue 36 Arabic OP? That’s the most beautiful OP in the lineup imo.

I am also one of the guys who owns both.
I love the GMT. It is rugged and classy at the same time. I own the NATO strap which I think fits the wrist better and gives it more of a tool and casual look. I travel a lot and find the GMT complication very useful going between time zones. The aluminum bezel gives a vintage look to it and I do like the date window without the cyclops. However, if pressed with them both I am going to vote the OP. This is probably my favorite watch in my collection and is timeless. It can dress up with a suit and dress down with board shorts and it looks at home in both situations. The brushed bracelet is perfect in fit and function even without an EZ link or glide lock. The dial is simple and the batons really add a depth to it. This is a watch that will always be in my collection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Between the choices listed I would go with the GMT as I like the touch of colour on the bezel. If the red grape OP was an option I'd go that route. I think it would work well with your sleeve. I seem to recall another member with a full sleeve rocking the red grape and thinking it looked great!
Congrats on the upcoming nuptials! |

It all depends on your situation, as all these 'vs.' threads do. If you're looking for something a little dressier to go with your sub, and bring some diversity into your collection, then of course, it's going to be the OP.
If you could give a hoot about dressier or versatility and you want another super hot sports watch to go with your sub, then get the GMT. |

I'd pick the OP as well, makes for a great versatile set.
But in the end it's personal so choose whichever you like. |
