1675 Fatfont insert or regular font?????
I’ve read for hours on the web about Super/mega/fat/regular font, but still have trouble distinguishing the difference! Especially some fatfont from regular font (..and we are talking all red backs). Please help on this one: which font and approximate value, as I’m cinsidering a purchase😃

That does not appear to me to be a fat font, as far as value, sorry I can not help.

Regarding the red back inserts for the GMT 1675:
Super, mega or similar names are the same - extra fat font inserts regardless of the name. These are from the very late 1960s to very early 1970s. The remainder of the others during the 1960s and toward the mid-1970s are either fat fonts or a medium fonts. The fonts became somewhat smaller around the mid-1970s but visually it always isn't easy to distinguish between the two. The medium fonts continue into the early 16750 era. Bellow is a super fat font, mega fat font, King Kong fat font or whatever name you choose to call it. The second photo contains two inserts, the same super fat font insert from the previous photo and a fat font fuchsia insert. The third photo is a medium fonts insert circa 1978 which appears very similar to the fat fonts.

I really appreciate the knowledge sharing in this Forum. Many thanks for providing great educational info👍🏻😃
I’ll definately pass on the above insert, hence needing a period correct insert for my 73, 3.4mill series 1675: If anyone can point me in the direction of a decent insert for this watch, it would be appreciated!👍🏻😃 (love the ones that still have som vivid colors left) |

The vivid colors are a lot cheaper than the nice faded ones!

Went to my local AD and got a brand new insert installed. Paid $90👍🏻😃
Not vintage but very happy with color and font! |
