Video review of my collection
Great collection. I think a patek 5712 will complement this collection very well. Patek, blue dial, moon phase, open case back, slim/dressy and yet very sporty. What else you need. If not then a hulk will be great to add a splash of color to the collection. Enjoy

Wow! That is a great presentation, and love the depth you went into explaining each of the models. Knowing about your taste in watches, I would say that I cannot see you selling any of that collection. For me, I have never been able to get enthusiastic over the Daytona model, but am very impressed with that Zenith Daytona. I love Zenith watches as well, and currently have three El Primero models. Also, the newer white gold model would be my favorite as well, and I am very partical to that Oysterflex bracelet, which I tried on when I looked at an Everose gold YM.
Anyway, you have such a passion for each model in your collection, that is why I would say you should sell none. The move from the Sub to the Sea-Dweller was a smart one for you. I did try it on while it was still in production, and would have bought it on the spot if I could have afforded it. I was just so impressed with the engineering, getting the depth rating from such a small case which appeared even smaller than the SubC. I do currently have a SubC on order, my first Rolex Diver, my wrist being 7.25in it should be comfortable. I saw an Oyster quartz at my AD the other day. Owned by their in house Rolex specialist and watchmaker. I had only previously seen one. A beautiful watch and, as he says, a fantastic movement. I have always admired the AP Royal Oak. Only from a distance, unfortunately, as I have never been able to see one in real life! A friend of mine wears his father's diver version, though, so I can appreciate the amazing craftsmanship. It does look like it fits way larger than 37mm. I remember that the bracelet is also fantastic craftsmanship. Always like the Rolex GMT models, just not sure which I would pick given the choice. Maybe as an addition, something a bit dressier or more versatile. Since you like the smaller watches, I would take a look at all the Rolex OP34 models have to offer. I had a couple, sold them, and really miss them. This green dial version is an absolute stunner, and I am seriously considering getting another. I must have been nuts to sell it! The Rolex OP34s are one of my favorite Rolex models and very underrated. They also have a slight cushion shape to the case, and fit almost as large as the 36mm model. Also, the Zenith El Primero Chronomaster Original at 38mm might be a real good bet for you, as you like the smaller watches. I tried one the other day, and absolutely loved it: The finishing on these Zenith watches is incredible IMO and excellent value for the prices. Anyway, I have really enjoyed watching your video, and indeed this thread. Good luck on your next watch, but don't sell any that you have! Mind you, I am the all time hypocrite, as I don't know anyone who flips watches as much as I do! Cheers, Carl

Cool, all the way around. I really like the bracelet on the TT. I've never been a big TT fan, but I'd wear that one any day. Very nice, and great video. Thanks

5712! Maybe a Hulk or BLRO for some colour? Then you're all set!

Great video, and excellent collection! Certainly some good suggestions already made as far as possible additions. If you were looking for something beyond sports watches, a Patek 5205 would look great with complications you don't currently have in the collection and still 40mm in size.

No regrets on the SeaDweller, but I think for your wrist size the Sub will be perfect. It's funny to hear your watchmaker wears an Oysterquartz. It seems like some very well established figures in the watch industry are big fans of the Oysterquartz. For someone who works on mechanical watches all day to prefer quartz for daily wear is quite interesting... Great suggestion regarding OPs... I've admittedly never given this line very close attention, but mostly because I was always going after the "bigger fish". I think the OPs have some fantastic dial options and I definitely like the smaller size. I also haven't given the El Primero much attention, but maybe I should check it out since I won't get getting any calls for a ceramic daytona anytime soon Thanks for all the feedback. I truly love every piece in my collection at the moment and it'd be hard to sell any of them. |

Your posts have certainly peaked my interest in the 5712, Tom. I wouldn't mind a BLRO, but am still working on coming around to the Hulk - just a bit too much green for my liking. The hunt continues... Quote:

Not sure why a mod moved this thread
God forbid we have a thread discussing the aesthetics and passion for these watches instead of the 10X daily conversations about how to secure a Daytona at MSRP. Don’t see any of those threads being moved from the main page... |

Mods prefer we discuss SS shortage versus share collections?
Just a bit annoyed. Posted a thread yesterday sharing a video review of my collection only to find it relegated to one of the site’s back rooms that no one ever looks at (apparently because it contains video/photos? Find this hilarious because 99% of the posts on the general discussion likewise contain photos/video.)
Why do mods allow the countless daily posts about trying to buy a SS Daytona at list to stay live on the general discussion while relegating posts containing actual creative content to the back rooms?? |

The trend does seem to be rumor, price, stock over actual ownership and enjoyment.
Been this way for quite some time.

Interestingly the mods seem to be condoning such discussions. If I wanted to participate in investment discussions, I’d go to another site. Rolexforums has sadly lost its way...

You are free to find another forum, this is still the best watch forum around. Just ignore the drivel and search for the threads worth commenting on.

MODS have much better things to do than pick on someone, you must have done something against the rules of this forum, like post a video about watches other than Rolex.
What exactly was in your video? I would watch it but I can't find it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |

I feel like the general discussion sub-forum has devolved into the "speculative investment and FOMO" forum. It would really be nice if these incessant threads were relegated into the back rooms instead of posts actually discussing what we like/dislike about various Rolex models. |
