I'm a frequent traveller through Schipol, and despite always checking and hoping to see a steel sports model, still no luck. Seems only the lucky few stumble upon them as they are delivered!!

Couldn't settle for an air king though!!

Same here, but given it’s the first SS model at all I have seen in an AD in months I thought I’d share

Give the AK some love! I have one and I’m very pleased with it. Not I would admit a first choice Rolex purchase but if you’re lucky enough to have some other Rolex watches, a nice one to get out to change things up.

I have see AKs all over, they seem to immune from the demand. Maybe they will be collectible someday as a result.

Cue the masses explaining how it is inspired by a speed record that never happened and a dial that was poorly inspired from the original and named after a classic pilot's watch instead of anything to do with motorsports, all wrapped inside a half-hearted marketing campaign.

The current AK is awful. Hopefully it gets discontinued.

I was at Schiphol yesterday as well... saw someone pick up a sea dweller around 3PM from the Gassan Rolex boutique.

After speaking with the sales person and the buyer, was told they received “almost all” professional models last Friday (Feb 8) and this was the last piece. Just regurgitating what was said... I only saw the sea dweller being sold.

The thing is, the Air King was inspired by a speed record that never happened and a dial that was poorly inspired from the original and named after a classic pilot's watch instead of anything to do with motorsports, all wrapped inside a half-hearted marketing campaign.

All the more reason to offer me a discount!

Sad state of affairs that we are getting excited about an ak. Wish the ad’s would bring the ss models from the safe but I guess they would not last long.

OP is sharing what he saw passing through the airport and everyone is blasting the Air-King in this thread...

Is that really how bored you all are?

I for one would like to see more of these threads where we share what we are seeing on our travels with the rest of the TRF community in the hopes that the reference you're looking for is spotted in the wild.

I bought it because I liked it, but the novelty quickly wore off and I traded it against a GMT Pepsi.
It’s definitely a bargain, especially at tax free price, but there’s not much love.

Me too, loved it for a week or so then the novelty wore off. Back to my Explorer & GMT.

Surely you are aware that:-
