golf in your watch

Anyone else here play golf while wearing their watch? I have played many rounds wearing either a Rolex or Omega without (seemingly) any issue. Anyone else play in their watch and if so, have you experienced any problems? Please no comments on pro athletes. They get all the free watches they want so I am sure whether it is a good idea or not, they are paid to do it.

I used to have a Tag that I wore frequently to the driving range, after some time I started hearing something rattling around inside of the watch. I suspect that the velocity and sudden impact knocked something loose over time.

Don't know if a Rolex is less susceptible to this, but now I always take off my watch when golfing, not worth the risk, and there isn't anything for me to gain while wearing it.

At first I wore the YG Daytona because of the rubber strap. Just to try it out. It was great and the strap was comfortable. I think the strap was made to be worn to play!!

I wouldn't personally, but to a lot of people, golf is all about shmoozing and impressing someone, so I'm sure there are a lot of men wearing their best watch on the course for that purpose

I wear a Rolex just about all of the time, and that is the reason (and the only reason) I wore it when i golfed. I always thought my Roles was tough enough to handle golfing. Was I wrong? And I think most golfers golf because they enjoy it and most are not good enough to impress anybody and are happy just to be able to satisfy themselves.

I used to, and never had a problem, but for whatever reason stopped. Then I figured I shouldn't be bringing it to the course if I'm just going to put it in my bag and risk it getting stolen. So now I wear a g-shock when I'm going to play, and have no worries about putting it in my bag.

I never went anywhere without my sub! That’s what’s great about that watch, you can swim, shower, golf, weld....the watch is designed to wear. Today I played the Wailea Emerald with my Sedna Deep Black. Wearing a watch doesn’t help my game though.

Great course! I played the emerald and gold back to back a while back.

I play a lot of golf, I always take my Rolex off just before I tee off and put it back on when I hole out on 18. I wear a gps yardage watch for the round and if going to the Driving range I wear my Casio.

I don't and even take rings off to play. My swing is too fragile to have something strapped to my wrist while I play throwing me off. I have a casebud in my bag to keep it safe.

I am not worried about the watch and would wear it while playing if it didn't bother me to have it on.

Golf will not damage your watch unless you get hit by someone else’s ball.

golf has to be one of the most rational dont wear your watch activities there is. hitting a golf ball does put a lot of g force on the movement same as tennis or hitting a baseball.

If you play golf with your watch but won't wear it in a hot tub, on vacation, riding a bike, running, etc then that just seems strange to me

I think a Rolex is up to golf. But why risk it if you're unsure? I hate having anything on my wrist, fingers when I'm playing golf. I certainly don't need the added worry of damaging an expensive watch to make the game harder.

Probably not. The weight of the watch would drastically affect the feel of the club. Plus your dragging the weight of the watch through the swing. Yuck, who needs more dead weight. It takes practice to learn to swing with your lead wrist weighted. Why mess with a perfectly functional move through the ball with so on the line.

Wearing your Rolex is fine while playing golf. Phil Michelson wears and has been wearing a Rolex Cellini every round for pretty much his whole career. I know he gets them free, etc. etc but as per the Rolex website it's ok to wear while playing golf. Most people don't as they don't feel comfortable with them on.

After all everyone on this site calls most models "Tool Watches" so why can't it be worn during golf?
