Can my wrist handle a SD43?

If that is 40 mm...yeah, the SD43 will swim on your wrist.

That said, I’ve seen NO shortage of dudes “swimming” in their SD43 and being absolutely chuffed about how good they think it looks on their wrist.

Roughly 8” wrist (wife thought Sub and BLNR looked “puny” by comparison)

Thanks, looks great on you! Yeah, I've been pining for one of these but honestly I'm not sure I'd be one of those guys who are happy with a watch overtaking the wrist. Too bad. Going to read that thread about being satisfied with a current collection...lol

Buy what you love, approvals from randoms on the internet shouldn’t make your decision.

IMO a wrist 7 inches and above would look great with a SD43. I have a 7 inch flat wrist and I absolutely love mine.

Go see it in person, it’s not as big as everyone makes it out to be.

Dude rock it if you like it. I have a flattish 7.25” wrist and I have worn everything from a 39mm Tudor to a 44mm Panerai (+5mm for the crown guard).

I recently bought and then sold an omega Seamaster Diver 300M which is a pretty beefy 42mm and it wore very well on my wrist which looks to be similar to yours (I had to sell it to get a different piece, but it was so comfy I’m about to buy it again... lol).

Anyway the point is - no one gives a f*** what your watch looks like except you, so wear what you like. It would have to be outrageous for an average person to actually think you were wearing a watch that was too big.

I think it would help to know your wrist size and maybe have a picture from a little farther out to help us gauge how the 40mm sits.

Hi fair point - does this help? I measured my wrist and it was like 6.9 inches

For the record, I'm fully in the rock what you want camp, so I appreciate the encouragement there, but I personally don't think I'd love an overly large look (regardless of others' opinions)

Impossible to judge with these pics. Take a pic with a bit of distance, forearm and mirror. 'Flat 6.9 with med/big forearms should pull it do without looking you borrowed your fathers watch. Wear what you like, its your watch blablabla. Watches are like suits. They have to fit. To big or to small makes any suit/watch look bad.

This. Close up wrist shots are pretty useless. All watches look big up close.

Most probably, you are very close in and still have some wrist space spare. Simple rule, if over 7 inches should be fine, or 6.5 with flat wrists.

Part of the question is how tall you are. I am 5'9" and have a wrist just under 7" and SD43 works (but just barely in my opinion). Sometimes I wonder if too big, but I still like it.

I have 7.25inch fairly flat wrist and my SD43 wears absolutely fine.

Its really not as large as people think. It wears much smaller than its size IMO, because of the black bezel, relatively small dial and slimmed lugs.

It does, from everything I don’t think you’ll have a hard time rocking the SD43. I had the 114060 before I got the SD43 and it looked similar on my wrist and the SD43 fits perfectly at home on my wrist.

SD43 on my 7.25" flat wrist. I think 7" is minimum for this watch. The SD43 is currently my daily wear and my favorite.

Actually yeah, I keep asking myself this. I think I'm actually motivated by loving the SD4K, and also by switching my date sub for a ND sub and then realizing I miss the date bubble (ahhhhh). So I thought getting the SD43 would be something I'd love (and I do from the pics). But at the same time, I feel like it is a bit overkill and I should probably take a different direction with my collection. I think there is another thread going about whether to consider collection diversity or just buy what you like. I'm always attracted to the same stuff, but I think I might just be trying to recapture the feeling of the SD4K, which I already have! Terrible affliction.

If I'm not mistaken, the difference in lug-to-lug between the SD4k and the 126600 is about 3mm... I can't see that making too dramatic of a difference

Even a lot of Rolex's 40mm models have 46 - 47mm heights, not far away from the 50mm seen on the 126600. I think this is why it seems to 'fit' most people's wrists

I've decided to pass on this and went for a white OP 39 instead. I'm sure the desire will return with a vengeance but I've successfully suppressed it for now..

If you like the watch, it’ll suit you. The wrist size doesn’t make the biggest of differences. Having said that, anything 6.5 and above should be fine.
