Is it safe travel with your Rolex 6263?

Hey folks, I have a Rolex Daytona vintage 6263, and I am going to Orlando in the next 14th, is it safe to travel with it.

Beautiful watch! Yes, you’re good in Orlando. That watch only draws attention from WIS for the most part. I’d always be aware of my surroundings wearing any high end watch though

Fantastic watch! I assume so. Took my modern Daytona’s there because I figure Disney has better security than most places. Bad security for them would impact their stock price so I bet they have good security.

Great watch! Unless you are planning on visiting sketchy areas of Orlando you should be fine.

Yeh don't worry about it, it's just some old watch!

What's the backstory? How long have you had it? Was it bought by you from new?

I was my grandpa’s watch, he was a big fan of the actor (Paul Newman), and back in time, bought the watch, and then passed away to my father and later to me...

Yes just make sure you have a single travel case, incase your need to take it off your wrist at the airport or for resting at night. I use the single watchpod does the trick https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XJPVH7N?ref=myi_title_dp

Hey buddy, thanks for the tip, this is important! On the airport, what’s the problem with TSA??

I suppose Orlando isn’t more risky than any large tourist city, but...

Travel in itself introduces more opportunities for damage than your average daily grind.

With such a family heirloom I’d leave it home and just wear a modern Rolex if it was me.

Although I am not a fan of Chronograph watches at all the ONLY one I would consider is the 6263.

I have been to Orlando very many times.

So long as you are sensible nobody will notice what you have on your wrist.

I buy my single watch carriers from eBay. They are excellent ... I have lots of them. They hold watches very firmly and cost virtually nothing.

I always travel with 2 watches... a Rolex & a Timex. I leave the Rolex in the hotel safe if I'm traveling into any sketchy areas.

A Rolex is not a travel watch. They only work and are safe in the area where purchased. When a Rolex is traveled with, an alert goes out to all criminals to let them know.

We have a special app for that.

While I understand what you are saying, a 6263 isn’t exactly just a Rolex

No issues. Perhaps 1 in 100,000 would even know what it is. That’s back when Rolex was more focused on a purpose driven watch and less on appearances.

Leave it a home. Too valuable to wear it in crowded area in my opinion.

As long as its insured, its not a problem. If its a "Paul Newman" dial 6263, I would be very selective of where I wear it. If the normal, panda or reverse panda, I have worn mine though a rotation, for month's at a time.
