Gold Bracelet on a 1958 DateJust??
My sister has an old DateJust (Serial #1008xxx, dating to about 1958), and loves it, having worn it continually for 15 years!!
She would love to find a gold bracelet (having seen my wife's DayDate presidential!) to put on the old DateJust. It does have the same 20mm lug width of course, but I don't think I've ever seen an older YG DateJust with a gold bracelet! Does anyone have some ideas? Can you just put a DD bracelet on a DJ watch? will the profile of the end link fit OK? Thanks!!

.......NO ONE had ANYthing to say about this??? Shocked I am! (Said in my best Yoda voice). Has anyone, ever, put a gold bracelet on a standard 20mm lugged DJ ??

Look at the lugs, or actually, between them. it is a more straight contour than we typically see at the case and so a "standard" bracelet will not fit and you would need one that matches. Finding gold bracelets from that era may be difficult.
This may have come on a strap originally.

It is possible to put a gold bracelet on that watch but maybe its your picture; The lugs on your watch look horribly worn down short and I think a bracelet wouldnt look right.
Also, be prepared to pay well over 5 grand for a bracelet for that watch if you can find one. An original bracelet for that watch is most likely a gold mesh with straight end links or jubilee style bracelet.

Jubilee was standard for 18k DJs at that time. The President (named for this fellow) was introduced around 1956.

I can help here - this is my 1950 6075, the above poster is right, the Jubilee seems to be the go to option
https://imgur.com/icdJckD Image can be seen on this thread https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...31580&page=777 I'm not sure how much an original 1950 jubilee would cost? It may have changed styles by 1958. |

Looks like I might find a early '50's DJ bracelet (like that beautiful one that Good 'ol Ike is wearing!!), and make my sister a very happy woman! What would be the best Reference numbers to search for? Other 1601's, only, or would one of the OP's work? Now . . . .I just gotta find one, right?
