Vintage Rolex Explorer Steve McQueen 1655 Unpolished

I’m entertaining the idea of trading or selling my vintage Rolex Explorer 1655, Steve McQueen. One of my favourite pieces in my collection that I swore I’d never sell.

Serial 6.347 million and bracelet clasp VF date the watch to circa 1979-1980.

The watch and bracelet have never been polished and remain in original condition.

I purchased the watch from the original owner (which I can prove). It sat in a drawer for the last 20 years, and has never been taken in for a service.

The watch is keeping remarkable time given it has never been serviced. Almost spot on and I’ve never had any issues with the time keeping.

The dial does not have any imperfections, no scratches, marks, blemishes, chips, or wiped out indices or lume, that sometimes occurs when dials are removed for servicing.

None of the lume on the hands and dial are missing, and they all match perfectly.

The acrylic crystal is original and nice, but does have some dirt swirls on the top side of the cyclopse, which can be seen in pictures.

The watch comes with its original box and generic hand tags that I threw in.

This is a stunning example of an all original, unpolished Steve McQueen Explorer, that took me a long time to find.

I’d consider a trade for a white ceramic Daytona.
